Vehicle Description: Everything about this 1993 Cadillac Allante is distinctive luxury performance. The very last year of production and offering the best power plant the Allante would see with the 4.6L Northstar DOHC L37 V8 which almost doubled the horsepower from the introduction of the Allante in 1987 producing 295 horsepower and 290 lbs of torque. Chosen as the Pace Car for the ’92 Indy 500 and costing an equivalent to 100 thousand dollars in today’s value this Cadillac was ground breaking on many levels and can be yours for a tenth of that figure. Only 88, 501 original well maintained miles on this Piininfarina designed high profile vehicle with attention to detail gracing every line. Designed to directly compete with the Mercedes SL and Jaguar XJS the body was built in Italy and sent to Detroit on specially equipped Boeing 747’s packed 56 at a time. Production numbers in 6 years totals only 21, 430 with a mere 4, 670 produced in 1993. The legendary Northstar is mated to the 4T80E automatic transmission designed to handle vehicles up to 8, 000 lbs and handles this little American convertible sports car with ease. The Road Sensing Suspension and active damper management system and variable-assist power steering rack were both fine tuned for 1993. Within the past 24 months maintenance includes new tires, new battery, new driver’s seat leather, new engine electronics, new brakes, new water pump and as recent as this year new air conditioner.
This 1993 Cadillac Allante is a very special and unique vehicle that can be enjoyed in ways few sports cars can. From a collectors point it has been 24 years since the Allante name has been used by Cadillac and this being the final limited production run adds to that premium.
