Sadly selling my awesome, MR2 Turbo. There are 10 of these listed nation wide on auto trader right now for an average price of $12, 783.30 and they're only getting harder to find as they gain more and more spotlight in media and print! I've done my best to price this fairly for the right buyer. My MR2 has the T tops, adjusted steering geometry of the 93+ model years (90-91 models are a little more squirrely and prone to spinning), and the all important viscous limited slip differential. Aside from the paint and leather blemishes you'd expect to find on a car this age with 3 owners, my car is in good shape. I've worked hard and put a lot into taking good care of her. The cosmetics where just lower on my list than all the important things, among the items I've already taken care of for you are:
1. Head gasket
2. Valve cover gasket
3. Brand new alternator (Sept, 29, 2017 $620)
4. Toyo Proxes R1R and alignment on all tires (R compound rubber in spec sizes for 16' rims)
5. Coolant temp sensor
6. All new fluids
7. Water filler neck assembly
8. Checked water pump and timing belt when head gasket was done (they where replaced at 110, 00)
9. New battery
10. Registration paid
This is by far my favorite vehicle I've ever owned and I will absolutely buy another one someday when my wife and I are done our degrees! I'm only selling this because I was here from Canada on a work visa and my employer suddenly closed their business, I can't work now until I get a green card. That being said, I want to find an owner that's going to love/enjoy this car and try to take good care of it as much as my wife and I have. It's definitely an amazing snap shot in time from a different era of Toyota. A super fun, good lookin', interesting car in a great package! I still have people stop me to ask about it or leave notes on the car. I promise it's the most bang for the buck you'll find. A rally bread mid engine from a motor-sport oriented Toyota generation with rock solid Japanese reliability. Parts are easy to find and current, plus there's a great after-market if you plan to go that route. I only ask that the new owner offer me the first right to refusal as the previous owner Gary asked of me (you just give me a chance to buy the car back from you before you list it for sale to the general public).
The only items that I'm aware of for a new owner to take care of are:
1. Time to smog the vehicle again so pay for smog test
2. the struts are aging, you could update them now if you want and get it out of the way early
3. I bough the car with a snapped handbrake. It was low on my list of priorities since I just always park the car on flats. My mechanic and I are both pretty sure it's the single cable in the front section of the 2 part cable so at least it's an easy fix instead of both the rear cables.
If you have any other questions about the car or MR2's in general, please feel free to text or email. Likewise if you'd like to purchase.
