. I have been extremely detailed with the information below regarding the condition of the vehicle.
This car belonged to my Mother who purchased the vehicle on January 23, 1997 from Potamkin Lincoln-Mercury in Miami, FL. It was sold as a NEW-DEMO (Joe Gavaletz – General Manager for Potamkin where the car was purchased was the initial driver). The vehicle had 6, 660 miles on the odometer at that time.
Once my mother died in 2006, my step-father kept the vehicle until I inherited it on March 13, 2009. At that time, the car had 48, 710 miles on the odometer and since then, has very rarely been driven.
COMPLETE & DETAILED INFORMATION FOR THIS VEHICLE:
· The Engine and all major components, Transmission, Differential, Catalytic Converter, Muffler system and just about every major component you can think of are all original. The serpentine belt was replaced in 2004 and the spark plugs/cables were replaced in 2009.· The battery was just replaced. · The transmission shifts smoothly and very effectively; however, the transmission mounts might need replacing.· The drive shaft has a minor vibration at 70+ MPH. My mechanic advised me to replace the seals.· The undercarriage of the car looks magnificent for a 21 year old vehicle (see photos).· The car starts right up without hesitation and there is not a single vibration coming from it.· The transmission oil and filter was replaced in 2009.· The engine oil and filter should be replaced upon arrival to your destination. Although the oil has barely been used, the car has been parked for a very
long time.· The thermostat needs to be replaced being that the car overheats a bit when idling for a while.· There are absolutely no leaks coming from any part of the engine or anywhere in the car.· The air conditioner is ice cold and was recharged once the car was back on the road about 1 1/2 years ago: however, it needs recharging due to lack of usage. The system has no leaks.· I believe the alternator was replaced by my step-father back in 2007.· The tires were replaced in 2008; however, from being parked most of the time, they have cracked.· The factory air suspension was replaced in 2008 with regular struts and springs (The spring/strut system might be from a Ford Thunderbird/Cougar which share the same platform/chassis). The original system was disconnected. I am not sure if the equipment was removed or not; however, the info center displays the system being off.· The grille was replaced about a year ago.· The factory HID Headlights and Headlight Housings (LSC model Key Feature) were replaced for the regular MARK VIII headlights in October of 2004. I added aftermarket Kelvin brand HID headlights in 2015.· The digital info display works perfectly and runs the system check for the car without a problem.· The bulbs for the left portion of the gauges in the instrument cluster have burned out.· The power window regulators need to be replaced. The motors work but the windows do not operate.· The stereo and antenna work; however, the speakers apparently died out. The CD / CD Jacket located in the trunk in countless years and since the speakers don’t work, I am not certain if the CD system works or not.· The cigarette lighter is not working. I believe it was disconnected when the air control unit was replaced in 2008.· The headliner and visor fabric needs to be replaced (see photos).· The leather on the car has normal wear and tear. It does; however, look better than some newer cars I have seen (see photos).· Power seats and lumbar support work well for both seats; however, the driver side does have a minor delay in certain positions. The reclining switch is also missing. I use the passenger side switch, adjust to my preferred position and then hit save on the memory.· The small cover located directly on top of the steering column has a crack and has been glued (see photos).· The center part of the dashboard has a hairline crack in the center on the plastic portion closest to the windshield. Other than that, the dash and panels are in great shape (see photos).· The driver side switch cover for the window switches is broken in one corner and cracked on the other (see photos).· The upper portion of the steering wheel is worn out (cover added). The horn/airbag cover has a few minor scratches on it.· The carpet is in great condition except for a few minor cigarette holes in a few spots and minor fading effect. My mother and step father were smokers back in the day. NOTE:
The car does not have any odor whatsoever at this time.· The factory Lincoln floor mats are in great shape. The mats have a few small burn holes in them (see photos).· The rear carpeted cover located behind the rear seats has about 2 minor cigarette holes (see photos).· The only portion of the car that has been repainted due to rocks tossed out of a dump truck and severe deep dings are the hood, the driver side fender and driver door. The paint job was performed in 1999. The clear coating is presently peeling off (see photos).· The rear bumper was also repainted the week the car was purchased. It had a large scrape which was caused by the dealer personnel back in 1996 or 1997. It is now faded much like the front bumper along with the side moldings on the doors and quarter panels (see photos).· The car has several minor dings on both sides due to being parked at my office for so many years (see photos).· The driver side LCD mirror malfunctioned but is not broken. Something very typical in cars with this feature (see photos).· The weather stripping for the rear glass should be replaced (see photos).· The passenger side tail light is cracked; however, I have the replacement light which I purchased from eBay. It will be in the trunk of the car once the vehicle is sold and scheduled for transport.· The rear chrome strip above the horizontal light fixture mounted on the trunk lid is slightly corroded on the right hand side (see photos).· The keyhole cover for the trunk is faded completely but still functions (see photos).· The front side marker curb lamps have condensation in them. Also, the chrome on the driver side marker lamp is corroded (see photos).· The black molding in the inner part of the rear passenger rear window is worn out and rough. No need to replace it unless you are planning to perform a full and detailed restoration for the car (see photos).· I lost the door Code Card and cannot remember the code itself; however, that can be obtained at a Lincoln Dealer.· Molding that surrounds the passenger side exterior door handle is broken (see photos).· Rear bumper has a rub from another car on the passenger side. Apparently, the car was hit while parked at the office (see photos).· All keys and key fobs as well as the original owners manual are available. At the time of purchase, one of the keys and key fob was missing so the dealer cut an aftermarket 2nd key and a regular fob (one that does not have the Lincoln symbol). I also purchased 2 brand new Lincoln Jewel Keys recently (door and ignition keys) on eBay which I will include with the vehicle (see photos).· You can unlock the doors, trunk and use the panic button without a problem. You do; however, have to manually lock the vehicle from the outside using your key. If not, the panic alarm goes off seconds after locking it with the key fob.
I have set forth my absolute best to be detailed in regards to the vehicle and its condition. I ask that you read everything carefully
before
making your decision. I have also included detailed photos and have circled the areas with an issue. Once the car is sold, I will wash, wax and detail it for you. I am all about presentation and first impressions. I also have a short video of the vehicle if interested.
I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions as quickly as possible.
Please keep in mind that this is a 21 year old vehicle that is about 75% original from the factory and does have normal wear and tear as well as areas that have been repainted as mentioned above.
