The previous owner was a family friend who unfortunately passed away earlier this month at the age of 85 years old. He purchased this car in May 2003 with 49K miles and put less than 3K miles on it over his 14 years ownership (approximately 200 miles per year)! The car now has only 51, 900 miles on it. That's an average of 2, 400 miles per year since it rolled off the showroom floor back in 1996!
General Description:
after driving this car on the back country roads near my home, I can see why so many people love these air-cooled Porsche 911's! I've driven this about 200 miles in the past 45 days and it's always been an amazing experience. This particular 911 starts with ease every time I turn the key, then idles perfectly, never stalls or stutters, and has plenty of power. This car drives straight as an arrow, handles extremely tight, no rattles, no strange noises, no slop in the steering wheel. It shifts through all the gears and brakes fast and perfectly straight - no pulling to any one side. His son told me that his father (in his 70s and 80s) would only take the car out from the garage on sunny days, and drive mostly around the backcountry roads around his home in Raphine VA. Before his 14 year ownership, he said the car was originally owned as an executive lease car in GA then FL for the first 6 years and had a minor issue back in 1998 when the driver ran into some shrubbery (as noted in car fax). The repair was done back then and the car has been enjoying life on the road ever since. If he didn't tell me about the incident, I would have never guessed it. His dad always kept the car garaged at his home in Virginia, and never drove it in the snow or on salty roads (I'm guessing that's why it's so clean). He also changed the oil each Spring (using only Mobile 1 Synthetic) and he started the car every few weeks, even in the winter, just to make sure the engine warmed up and stayed fresh.

Overall Condition:
As you can see by the overall condition, he obviously took care of this car. It does have a few chips/swirls here and there, which I've showcased with some close up photos. I can see a small 2 scuff directly under the headlight (see photo), but it looks to be a whitish rub mark on the surface that could come out with a proper detailing. There's also a small 2 scuff (also whitish in color) low on the passenger's rear bumper - just above the tail pipe (see close up photo of rear bumper). It, too, should lighten up with a proper detailing. And a few other small imperfections around the gas lid (see close up photo: two light scratches/swirls about 1/2 long near bottom right corner of lid area, and a 1/4 nick on the top right edge that someone has touched up).
This is why the car is priced very reasonably - it is not a trailer queen museum piece, but rather a very clean and dependable driving machine with LOW MILES and a few blemishes that are expected with 20 years of driving.
Engine: starts with a simple bump of the key and idles as it should - no need to even press the gas pedal. Driving this car is an absolute joy as the engine runs beautifully, and it performs flawlessly through all the gears. The engine compartment is extremely clean and looks to be completely stock with no modifications.
Paint: amazingly clean and bright with tons of depth and shine. There are a few small imperfections here and there. I pointed a few of them out in the photos, and I'm pretty sure most of these would be less noticeable with a good detailing. Email or text me and I'll be happy to send you additional close up pics.
Interior: all black, super clean and neat. Leather seats are in wonderful shape with a 20 years of patina, no rips, no stitching pulling away. The dash and doors all looks great, no cracks. Carpet looks beautiful and features 4 brand new Porsche floor mats. From what I can tell, everything in this car looks and functions like it should. However, the only thing I cannot get to work is the driver's seatback adjustment and the button which operates the movement, so the seatback is fixed at a comfortable position last set by the previous owner. This is something you'll have to inspect and repair. All the other positions on both seats works well.
Tires:
KUMHO - all 4 appear to have ~90% tread with no uneven wear.
Convertible Top: works as it should, up and down with ease, and locks tight in place with a push of a button. Looks to be the original and in very good shape. Some minor threads are a little worn, but it is extremely clean, well preserved and does not leak.

This Porsche is READY TO GO and I wouldn't hesitate driving it across county. What a magnificent car to drive, especially with the top down, so you can hear the roar of the air-cooled engine right behind you. I would even encourage you to FLY IN & DRIVE HOME!

It's currently parked in my climate-controlled garage here in north Georgia. I would love to keep this car, but my garage is full of toys and I simply do not have the extra room, and I wouldn't dare park this beauty outside.

Shipping is the responsibility of the Buyer, but I will make arrangements to meet any transporter within 50 miles of my home at no charge. I also have a transporter I've used several times for my own vintage cars, and he is extremely careful and only uses an enclosed single-car trailer for door to door transpiration. Clean title is in my hand. It is still my friend's name, and he signed and dated it (as the Seller) last month before he passed away. I have not filled out my portion on the title, so it will be fine to simply transfer it to you as the new Buyer - once funds are received. If you require me to register/title the car in my name, then send you the new title, I will charge a $500 fee on top of your final winning bid, and will send you the new title when I receive it from the division of motor vehicles (which takes about 2 weeks here in GA).
A $1000 nonrefundable deposit is to be made by the Buyer via PayPal or Wire Transfer within 48 hours of winning bid, and obviously I will only release the car once the full amount of the purchase price clears.
