I owned this truck for 21 years, and the reason the mileage is so low is that I lived so close to work. I LOVED THIS TRUCK! The 1997 Toyota Tacoma was so durable and strong that desert dwellers preferred it for its ability to perform on any terrain, and in any types of weather. It did not start three times in 21 years (I needed to replace a starter on one occasion, and two batteries). In my experience, the 1997 Toyota Tacoma was more dependable than the Ford Ranger, the Chevy S10, and the Dodge Dakota of similar years.
There is some rust above the wheel wells on the side, front, back and undercarriage. There are some tears in the fabric on the interior, and the exterior paint has been sun bleached. The A/C does not work, nor does the cruise control or the cassette player. There are some pock marks on hood. The truck also requires a new windshield wiper reservoir. Other than these cosmetic needs, this is the best automobile I've ever owned.
