The Sportster was developed to fill a void in Harley's line of cycles as they felt a demand for a lighter better handling bike that still had the Harley Davidson feel power and sound. The XL1200 s is powered by a 1200cc air-cooled 45-degree tandem V-twin engine overhead valve operated by pushrods hydraulic adjusters with 10.0:1 compression. The transmission features a wet multi-plate clutch with 4 forw...ard gears with belt drive to the rear wheel. The XL1200 Sportster offered here comes to us from a private collection and features just 2968 miles since purchased new from Perry Harley Davidson in Kalamazoo MI. Highlights include disc brakes adjustable rear coil over shocks highway pegs aluminum wheels passenger rear back support and luggage carrier.
