1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic Sport Utility 4-Door 4.0L with 164, 390 miles
THIS IS A VILLAGE-OWNED (SEIZED AND FORFEITED) VEHICLE AND MUST BE SOLD ACCORDING TO ILLINOIS LAW; IT MUST BE SOLD IN AN AUCTION-TYPE SETTING SUCH AS EBAY. THERE IS NO BUY-IT-NOW OPTION. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY TRADES FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS IS AND WITH NO EXISTING WARRANTY; NEITHER EXPRESS NOR IMPLIED. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE GIVEN. NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER AFTER THE STARTING PRICE HAS BEEN SATISFIED. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS VEHICLE.
POSITIVES:
1. The vehicle is an automatic SUV 4-door with 4 X 4.2. The vehicle uses regular gasoline.3. The vehicle has cloth seats in fair condition.4. The vehicle has a sunroof with electrical controls (unknown if working or leaking).5. The vehicle is very dirty, but appears to be in relatively fair to good condition (body).6. The vehicle has an after-market stereo, but unknown if working.
NEGATIVES:
1. The vehicle does not start-it will probably need to be towed from our storage lot.2. The vehicle was seized and ultimately forfeited-we are not sure of the condition or maintenance records for the vehicle.3. When seized, the vehicle ran. The vehicle is not currently running.4. The vehicle has been sitting (not running) since September 2012.5. The vehicle will need a new battery.6. The vehicle will need new brakes.7. The vehicle will need a tuneup.8. The vehicle will need a transmission/coolant flush.9. The vehicle will need new tires, as they hold air for a day or so and go flat.10. The windshield is cracked.11. The windshield was unprofessionally repaired at the top and leaks.12. The valve cover has a leak with oil down the side of the motor.13. There is a front and rear differential leak.14. There is a leak in the transfer case.15. The 4 X 4 lever is frozen and will not work.16. There is rust on the front and rear bumper, top of the roof near the top of the windshield, and rust spots throughout the vehicle.17. The passenger side rear taillight is cracked.18. The steering wheel is peeling19. The front driver's seat is torn and worn.20. The headliner is tearing/torn.21. The exhaust was rattling when running and will need to be replaced.22. There is a noise in the lifters.23. We believe the alternator is bad and will need to be replaced.24. The grill is broken.25. There are minor dings/dents/scratches/rust spots throughout the exterior of the vehicle.26. The vehicle will need to be cleaned inside and out (very dirty).27. We do not know if any of the lights, lamps, or signals are working because we cannot start the vehicle.28. BUYER BEWARE: This vehicle is NOT in the best condition!

The vehicle, again, is a village-owned vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law; it MUST be sold in an auction-type setting such as eBay. There is NO Buy-It-Now option. We will NOT accept any trades for this vehicle-please do not ask. The vehicle is being sold AS IS and with NO existing warranty; neither express nor implied. ALL sales are FINAL, No price adjustments will be given, and NO returns will be accepted.
BUYER BEWARE: Again, this is a seized/forfeited vehicle and we do not know the service records on the vehicle. We do NOT know anything about it's condition or past history. Potential bidders are encouraged to view the vehicle in person PRIOR to the bidding process, as there may be additional defects/imperfections we are unaware of. Potential bidders may have an independent inspection completed on the vehicle prior to the bidding process and at their own expense. The winning bidder is responsible for the pick up of the vehicle within seven (7) days of the close of the auction or contacting us to make arrangements for additional time needed. The winning bidder may hire a private shipping service to deliver the vehicle at their own expense. We will NOT deliver or ship the vehicle. We ask that the winning bidder make a deposit through PayPal within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The winning bidder, however, may pay in full with either cash or certified bank check in person upon pick up of the vehicle. We will NOT accept any personal checks or credit cards. We have described the vehicle as accurately, completely, and honestly as possible, however, we will not be held responsible for undetected problems, incorrect specs, etc.
