Final listing for this car. Sadly, the time has come to part with my beloved ’98 900 SE, bought 9 years ago on Ebay and driven 200 miles each week since. Current mileage is about 148, 500, subject to continued driving until sold. I really enjoy driving this car, but a new car says this one must leave the fleet.
Fully featured for the age: a responsive turbo, sunroof, heated power seats, leather, 6-disk CD player. Sheepskin has protected the driver’s seat such that the leather is better than the passenger seat shown. Two sets of keys. Tires have 16K miles since new and plenty of wear left. It’s a Florida car – no rust. Synthetic oil always.
Accident-free. What works? Everything but cruise control and the left radio channel sometimes pops in and out. Headliner looks fine from the front seat, but the material has aged and shows several indentations in the rear. I wouldn’t trust the key fob remote – you’re more likely to set off the alarm than open the car door. Plastic cover for the driver's side mirror control has broken off, but I hope to provide a replacement. My mechanic has recommended an automatic transmission flush.
In the past 2 years - new battery, muffler, brakes, valve cover gasket, radiator, and fan speed controller. A 9-year service record summary will be provided after sale. I’ll arrange a call with my local Saab mechanic if you think it would be helpful.
