Introduced in 2001, the GSX-R1000 instantly went to the top of the performance charts with the lightest, most powerful, engine and chassis package available. Featuring a 160-horsepower engine capable of a maximum speed of 180 miles per hour and a dry weight less than some 600cc bikes the advanced platform blew away the competition and took sports bike performance to an entirely new level.
