CONDITION:

This car definitely shows signs of wear, but it is a reliable car with good life left in it. Please see pictures for further explanation.
Body work: The previous owner reported that the car was in an accident and had some work done to the front right corner.
Side mirrors: I replaced the passenger mirror myself and did not paint it so it does not match the driver side. The inside panel that covers the wiring is missing. The car is equipped with power mirrors, but this feature does not currently function properly.
Driver seat: The driver seat (not the passenger seat) is power-operated. While the recline and forward-backward buttons work properly, the up-down button does not. Also, the cushion support underneath the driver seat is broken so the seat cushion sinks into the frame of the seat.
Hatchback hinge: Although it normally works well, the mechanism that holds the hatch open occasionally falls shut. It also sticks sometimes when opening the hatch.
Air conditioning: The car is equipped with A/C but it has not worked since I purchased the car. It might be a minor repair or more extensive, but I never had it diagnosed.
Oil leak: There is a slow leak which I have not located. It seems to be burning oil rather than dripping onto the street. It also seems to leak more during colder weather, but it has not gotten worse over the last year.
Stains, dings and scratches: This is a 14 year old car with 2 previous owners before me so there are stains, small dents and scratches. I have been bumped by other cars several times so there are some minor bumper cracks. I also use this as a utility vehicle in lieu of a truck so there are signs of hauling various building materials and pets. I have never smoked in the car and I don't believe any previous owners have either.
Features and Highlights:
Reliable car that handles well: In the 3.5 years that I've owned this car, I have traveled 45, 000 miles and have only broken down once. It has taken me up and down the East Coast many times from Philly as far as NC, RI and west to MI. It's clearly no sports car, but it has surprisingly great handling/turning radius for a station wagon. It is especially easy to parallel park (in my opinion) because of the flat hatchback and big rear window in addition to sharp steering. I have also been very impressed with how well it drives in the snow. It is equipped with some primitive traction control and ABS.
Roof rack/cargo space: The roof rack has been invaluable to me for hauling building materials and I believe it adds a huge value to the car. The rear seats also fold down to create a large cargo space in the back. There is also a small compartment set into the rear floor, and the entire rear floor can be lifted up to access the spare tire--there is some room around the spare tire to store more cargo. The car originally came equipped with a cargo net and a retractable cover for the trunk, but I do not have those items.
History:
I purchased this car in July 2013 from a private seller. I believe there was one owner before him, but possibly two. As previously noted, the car was in an accident with a previous owner and had body work done. I think there is a small noticeable difference when turning sharply as a result of that accident, but nothing major.
Since I have owned the car, I have had the following repairs done in addition to regular brakes and lube:
Battery, 2013New Radiator, 2014New Fuel Pump, 2014New Fuel Tank Filler Neck, 2014New Tires, 2015
Additional Comments:
The car definitely needs new brakes, lube and an engine tune up. If given some love, I believe this car could easily surpass 200, 000 miles. I need to sell the car because I was given a newer car and cannot afford two cars on the insurance policy. I really like this car and hate to part with it because it has exceeded all my expectations.
The car comes with two ignition keys and a key for the roof rack. One of the ignition keys is bent and does not work very well. I was not given a remote door lock when I bought the car although it does have power locks. Also important to note, the car needs a new jack because the current jack does not have a lug wrench or crank handle.
Buyer is responsible for picking the car up (or coordinating delivery) in Philadelphia, PA. Please ask any questions prior to purchasing.
