I’ve come to terms that it is time for me to sell my 2003 WRX. This car is my life. It has completed its duty to me and I have done everything to it that I am capable of. I have graduated college and now need to start focusing on other things financially. I have owned this car for four years, and in that time I modified literally every part of it that I could to make it a fun street car that looks nice and drives like a dream.
This is a factory color Sonic Yellow (13V) which only 1500 cars were made. This is the only car that I know of its kind. I bought the car completely stock and started from there. It has zero rot and no rust as it has been garaged and covered most of its life. I work at a Mercedes Dealership and wash the car every Saturday afternoon, including undercarriage/engine bay and wheel wells. This car started out as my daily driver and then turned into a road trip/show car for me. Body condition is pretty good for a 14 year old car. It has a few chips but that is normal for the amount of miles the car sees when I take it out. I did my best to have it paint corrected and polished back in October by my friend who was a Professional Detailer at Unique Car Care in Andover MA. The Prodrive Lip, JDM Power Folding Mirrors and Flares were literally just repainted this past week.
I had Blacked Out Motorsports import and install a Version 7 JDM EJ207 (with working AVCS) into this car in 2014. I purchased a 2007 STI 6 Speed Transmission in 2015 as well. I decided I wanted to widen the car with some grippy Nitto street tires and an aggressive stance so I sourced a brand new set of Karlton Version 1 Fender Flares custom fitted and paint matched to this car. All rust was cut out and exposed metal was welded together and sealed by a close friend runs an Autobody Shop in Northern Maine.
All maintenance was done by AJW Performance in Gilford NH using OEM Subaru parts. Brakes, Lines, Timing Belt, Water Pump, Clutch, Gaskets and Seals have all been done and refreshed within the past year. I have the car datalogged every 6 months by my tuner to check that everything is working as it should. This car was street tuned back in 2014 by Eric Sorenson out of Southern MA. Exact power figures are unknown but cars with similar mods are 310whp/260wtq on 93 octane. The body of the car has 165, 000mi on it, the Engine has around 60k on it and the Transmission has 40k on it. I change the oil religiously every 5000 miles. I use Amsoil synthetic 5w30 for engine oil and OEM Subaru Gear oil for Transmission and Diff Fluid. Every November I have the undercarriage coated to prevent any rust throughout winter, even though I don’t daily drive the car anymore.
This car is fast and so much fun to drive. The ride is firm but precise on ISC N1 Coilovers and the car overall handles very nicely for its size/weight. It is a very easy car to drive as well, as it has a new WRX OEM 5spd clutch and Flywheel, doesn’t slip and feels smooth. Brakes are solid once heated up and tires are sticky. I drive it typically once a week now and kept it charging in my garage for most of the winter. I have never launched this car ever, and I haven’t ever redlined it either. After all the swaps and work done to it, it is extremely reliable and hasn’t let me down.
All said and done I have put $27, 000 into this car since day one. Not a single part has been overlooked. I have a full spreadsheet of parts that I can email if needed, but I will list a majority of everything here.
I am asking $16, 500 or best offer for the car. The title is currently a REBUILT title as the history of the vehicle shows it was stolen back in 2004 and sold to Auction, thus creating a new title under a Rebuilt status. One prior Accident was back in 2005 but not declared a total loss as the vehicle was fixed with no serious damage. These were all prior to my ownership of the vehicle and have not affected my ownership of it in any negative way, just stating the facts.
