For sale by owner, 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart (not OZ Rally).
The OZ Rally was essentially a stock 2.0L Lancer with the same bodykit as the Ralliart, and OZ wheels. By contrast, the Ralliart came with upgraded brakes, upgraded suspension, upgraded sway bars, sport seats, the same short throw shifter as the Evo, a strut tower brace, and a larger 2.4L 4G69 engine making 42 more hp than the base Lancer/Lancer OZ Rally.
This is a ONE OWNER car, bought new in 2004. The car was special ordered as a yellow, manual, non-sunroof, and with the addition of optional fog lights. The car is a very rev-happy, peppy car by nature with a sharp turn-in and very neutral handling balance. It is in great shape mechanically and aesthetically, inside and out. Its condition truly belies its age and mileage.
I just completed a major service including:
New Exedy clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing
New Continental timing belt and balance shaft belt
New water pump
All new idler bearings and belt tensioners
New serpentine belt
New starter motor
New clutch slave cylinder
New thermostat
New upper and lower radiator hoses
Coolant flushed and replaced
Oil changed with Castrol synthetic
Transmission/differential fluid changed
Brakes/clutch bled with new fluid
This service was completed less than 200 miles ago.
Everything works as it should. It has not been ruined with autozone cold air intake kits or any of that crap. The only non-factory parts are the Falken 17 wheels, and an aftermarket rear muffler to give it a little more character. No check engine light or any fault indicators on dash, and it has always passed emissions no problem. Crucially, the air conditioning works and is ice cold, and the car will come with both original sets of keys with fobs. The gearbox still feels just as slick as it did when it was new; very short, notchy positive engagement, no grinds or fishing around for gears, and no slop. The windows were tinted 35% by the dealership, who did a great job. It has helped keep the interior in great shape, preventing fading and cracking.
It will need new tires before long, but there is still tread on all four and no cords showing. One of the wheels is out of balance and can be felt at 70-75mph, but under 50mph it feels completely normal. Also, something happened to the back of the driver's seat, the wire springs have punctured the rear of the seat in a few places. This is visible in the photo showing the back seats. The seat feels completely normal to sit in, but if it bothers you, replacing the seat with another seat would be simple. There is also a scrape on the rear bumper, but apart from that, no visible damage to the car. Clean title, no accidents, no liens, owned by a non-smoker.
The recent service was well over $1000 just in parts alone. This car has been garage kept and well maintained, and makes a great, reliable car with all the recent parts. Honestly, this car will be a steal at whatever the final selling price is. Buy it and drive it home from across country if want.
