VERY well cared for car. First owner wouldn't even let anyone (including his wife) eat in the vehicle. My dad purchased from first owner, and I purchased from him (we now eat in the car:) ) Has always been locally owned, and maintained and serviced at Defouw BMW. I have records of all (I believe) maintenance done to vehicle. The car has never been in any major accidents. It was in a fender-bender last winter/early spring where the bumper and headlight had to be replaced. The reason we are selling is that my wife has been driving the vehicle and I want to have her in something newer.
The car is 12 years old, so it does have some bumps and bruises. It has been very well taken care of over the years and whenever something popped up we fixed it. Before my dad sold it to me 2 years ago, he had Defouw go over the car and replace everything that wasn't 50% or better as some preventative maintenance.
Mechanically there is one known issue with the vehicle. The oil pan seal is getting older so it has some cracks resulting in a small leak. Over the course of 6 months, the car loses about a quart of oil. Defouw did not say that the leak is in need of repair immediately, but it will continue to leak oil until the gasket is replaced. The repair is around $1, 100.00 at Defouw. It can be repaired elsewhere for less. I researched the parts and if you know what you are doing and have the tools it is around $200 max. The price I have listed reflects this repair cost. Again, the car is in perfectly good shape and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country as it is. After 5000 miles you might need to add a quart, but that's it.
Cosmetically the car is in pretty solid shape. A few scrapes here and there (nothing major), the rims have some brake dust, and the floor mats show some wear. The map holder on the back of the driver's seat is broken (it is an easy fix, I haven't made time to fix it and it is pictured on the back of the driver's seat) and there are a few things here and there that keep the car from being perfect. It is a 13 year old car and has been a daily driver for most of that life. The tires are about average, but still have life in them. If you swapped the front with the rear you'd be golden for a while.
