Opportunities like this don’t come around often. If you’re like me and only settle for the best of the best, this is it… at the price of a Toyota. Very limited production (2, 503 total produced over all four years) and even fewer with the black on black color which is the most sought after combo for this car – it looks classy, exclusive, executive and devious all at the same time. I get compliments everywhere I drive it… people just like to talk about it.
This car has only seen rain once since I’ve owned it (got caught in a pop-up summer storm and then washed immediately at home to get the road grime off)… it has NEVER SEEN ROAD SALT and still looks brand new underneath (sold new in Hawaii, spent a little time in Texas and then was shipped right to my Maryland garage where it has been ever since). If there is any wetness or salt residue on the road it stays in the garage. It has been stored indoors, clean and covered on a trickle charger (washed after every use).
Collectable condition – ONLY 22k PAMPERED MILES… not a single torque stripe broken on the factory hand assembled engine. These cars were hand assembled at the GM Performance Build Center in Lansing, Michigan – each motor is built / torqued / striped by a single master technician from start to finish and then hand signed as a true symbol of pride in workmanship. I’m a mechanical engineer in the spacecraft industry and the engine in this car is one of the most beautiful pieces of engineering I’ve ever come across (which is why I bought the car). Quad overhead cam / 32 valve high revving performance V8 that was designed to go head to head against Europe’s best. Don’t confuse this engine with the naturally aspirated Northstar V8… it’s a completely re-engineered motor from the inside out… more info is available here (or with a Google search): here
The engine idles smooth as silk and then when asked to by your right foot produces 469 HP and 439 lb-ft of torque. When it does… hold on to your seat! No spit / spatter / crackle at idle… just a low smooth rumbling exhaust note to let people close to you know you have something special. No bad manners.
Interior by Draxlmaier in Germany (also produced interiors for Maybach, Bugatti, etc… the best) - beautifully trimmed with double contrasting color French stitching. Fifteen speaker Bose Studio sound system is the most impressive system I’ve ever heard (in a car or anywhere)… it sounds like you’re sitting on stage. All of the luxury features… heated front and rear seats with suede inserts and heated steering wheel. Tri-zone climate control (driver / passenger / rear). Curtesy lights under doors. Nav system with east coast Nav DVD included.
The pictures tell the story on condition… the car is nearly perfect. I’ve been accused of being OCD about my stuff on more than one occasion… I have had every rock chip professionally corrected by the local GM dealer. New battery this year… oil changed every 2-3k miles (note that this motor takes 9.5L of synthetic oil!)… good Michelin Pilot rubber (see pics). When you look under the car and in the engine bay you can really see the value of buying a car like this that has never seen road salt – everything is clean / un-pitted and presents nearly as new.
As I have wrote up this description I’ve nearly talked myself out of selling it (I don’t have to). Please don’t contact me with low ball offers – the car is worth the asking price. Only one other car on the market that compares and it’s listed at nearly 2x my asking price ($49.9k). I have a busy job, a couple kids and too many toys (at least my wife thinks so) – I’ve enjoyed this one… time for it to find a new home. I’m sure I’ll kick myself later… but it’s on to new things for now (getting out of cars and into boats).

A couple notes in the interest of full disclosure - no disappointments allowed:
 The windows were professionally tinted by the previous owner to 35% (using the expensive carbon impregnated heat shield stuff). The tint makes the car look fantastic. I have the orig. receipt for the work and the window sticker reflects the 35% spec. which is legal in Maryland (see pics). The film had photo-developed a little and when I had it inspected when I bought it, it was a couple percent low in a few places on the meter. The guy was reasonable and bought it off.
 I occasionally get an error code from one temperature sensor that’s tied to the thermostat (apparently common on these cars). The thermostat works perfectly and the engine runs cool as a cucumber… it just has a sensor that momentarily hiccup’s occasionally and throws a code. It’s a 30 second re-set and, to me, since the engine has never been touched and is totally torque striped from the factory, it was never worth putting a wrench to the engine to replace. It’s too perfect right now and it only comes on occasionally (possibly due to the fact that the car isn’t driven much… it could go away with more regular use). I’ll include a nice code scanner tool with the car so you can clear it.
 The driver seat has a few creases in it that looks like someone has sat in it for… well… 22k miles. Shouldn’t be a surprise.
