The face of is changing and we like what we're seeing as the 2008 Sky undergoes the Red Line treatment, providing the much- needed bite to match this feisty little roadster's bark. As the highest-output Ecotec to date, the GM Europe-designed 2.0-liter inline-4 (also in ) employs such technologies as direct injection and a BorgWarner dual-scroll turbocharger amounting to some very attractive figures of 260 bhp peaking at 5300 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. of torque between 2500–5200 rpm. Although there still remains some spooling time before the sweet spot is reached, the annoyances of turbo lag aren't as prevalent — putting power down sooner through a nifty limited-slip diff.
New performance-tuned dampers work fairly well with the double A-arm suspension through the smooth stuff. Roll is reduced with larger anti-roll bars all around and the front brakes now benefit from ancillary cooling via brake ducts integrated into the lower front fascia. A couple of other tasteful exterior cues separating this hopped-up roadster from the standard Sky are stealth-black headlamp bezels, 18-in. wheels and dual aluminum exhaust outlets.
