My first car was a 1988 Honda CRX and it might be my favorite car I have ever owned. Small, light, quick steering and handling, so easy to whip through traffic and park, distinctive styling, great gas mileage, plenty fast, and incredibly reliable. Well, the 2011 Honda CRZ is all that and more.
There are people who complain that, for a hybrid, it’s gas mileage is not as high as some others. That’s because Honda knew, with the extra weight needed for all the airbags and safety equipment that new cars now need, they would have to go a different route than the CRX with the CRZ. So, they put in a Honda Fit engine which is known for its zippy power, and they added a hybrid engine so depending on mode, you have 3 cars in one. In Economy mode, you have a less throttle control and power but great gas mileage (like the old CRX HF). In Normal mode, you have better power and very good mileage (like the old CRX DX). In Sport Mode gas mileage is less of a concern than power and the steering feel and throttle feels more like a sports coupe (like the old CRX Si). The electric engine acts as additional torque only when wanted or needed and is more a performance enhancer than a competitor for Priuses.
The end result of all this is that Honda has indeed created a sporty hybrid. The CR-Z looks sharp and is fun to drive around town thanks to its small size and quick steering. There is certainly fun to be had on a curvy road, too.” -- Edmunds
Acceleration isn't scorching by any means, but the CR-Z doesn't feel poky like the Fit or Insight. Helping foster that sense is the sport mode, activated via a button to the left of the steering wheel” -- Car and Driver
Regardless of transmission, CR-Z has better than expected acceleration at mid-range and high engine speeds. Passing and merging power are surprisingly good. -- Consumer Guide

This is the top of the line EX with Navigation. It has every option available including power windows and doors, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, 360 watt audio system with a subwoofer and USB interface, Bluetooth, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a navigation system with voice recognition and illuminated steering-wheel mounted navigation controls. It even has carbon fiber trim below the doors on the door wells and in the rear bumper. I have seen a few CRZs before but none as nice as this one.
I am particularly wowed by the instrument panel's layout, illumination and graphics, which make the interior look futuristic while remaining Honda functional. -- AutoWeek
This CRZ has a new oil change and recent matching Michelin tires. It is loaded, the right color, and only has 55K miles with Honda reliability. One owner, no accidents. It might not get Prius gas mileage but I have been consistently getting 38mpg (which is actually about what my old 1988 CRX got). This is a PERFECT college student’s car or for anyone who wants great gas mileage but still wants a car that looks and drives sporty. If you are thinking about a CRZ (or have never seen one) you need to come see this one. You will love it!
