Cool car. Clean title, not financed. Just had a full 50K service, new brakes, AC clean out, and brand new $8500 Tesla drivetrain put in. For those of you who don’t know about this car, only a couple thousand were made as part of a Toyota California compliance electric program. Toyota used a Tesla battery and motor, and installed it in their RAV4 body. Gets about 100 miles per charge, and 120 on the extended charge. Battery is still in great shape as we’ve only extended charged it about half a dozen times and always charged only to 75%. EV Battery was just given a very clean bill of health, and the 12V battery is brand new. Installed aftermarket black leather seats as these cars did not come with a leather option. Includes custom rubber all weather floor mats. Paint is in good shape, a few minor rock chips, but overall still shiny and looks good. Toyota has a recent recall and will repair any faulty paint under manufacturer's warranty, so if you'd like to take the car in to do that, you can get any needed touchups. We haven't felt it was needed.
The early 2012-2014 Tesla Model S and many of the Rav4 EVs had drivetrain/motor issues, and have needed replacement. The new drivetrain and motor is an upgrade as it was manufactured to order by Tesla and is of the new stock that is not subject to fail rate as is the case with the earlier issues.
Would keep it, but it took so long to get the new drivetrain installed (i.e. 8 months!) that we bought a new car while we were waiting. Car has been sitting garaged, picked up from Toyota and driven home, until it can go to a new home.
