Vehicle is still under warranty. Here is the best news of all. This car includes free charging through Tesla's supercharger network for life which is transferable to new customers. Tesla has announced starting 1/2017 they will no longer offer free charging on new vehicles sold.
The car is currently leased through Tesla Finance direct. You have the option to take over the lease for the remainder of the 3 year term (17 months remaining at $1253.42 per month) with a buy out of $4, 800.00 + a small transfer fee of ~$350 paid to Tesla, or choose to buy outright through Tesla's buy out option (Buy Now price) which then there is no buy out price required. My original plan was to lease the vehicle for 3 years then purchase it at the end of the lease. This option keeps the monthly payments much lower but plans have since changed with a new member to the family. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I want to add a few notes about this vehicle. The 85D was the most efficient, longest range model available before launching the 90D. The 85KhW battery gave you the furthest distance between charges while the dual motors still gave you the superior handling and multi road condition capability. It is by far the best model Tesla made! The rear spoiler is not an option unless you purchase the top of the line performance model. I purchased it after the delivery of the car. It is $1k when ordering a new Model S! I am including it in the price. The wheels are something that most buyers are not aware of. Tesla offers the 21 Turbine wheels in two options. 8.5 width for front and rear or 9 for the rear on the performance models. I have the wider, performance option that gives the car an entire different, meaner look. The staggered wheels fill in the wheel wells more, have the meaner look from behind and hug the road better. During the inception of Model S deliveries circa 2012, if you ordered a top of the line P85+, Tesla would deliver the car with staggered Turbine wheels and tires: 21×8.5″+40 front with a 245/45-21 Michelin PS2 tire and 21×9.0″+40 rear with a 265/35-21″ Michelin PS2 tire. All other Model S’ ordered with the 21″ Turbine wheel set would receive 21×8.5″+40 front and rear wheels with 245/35-21″ Continental ExtremeContact DW tires. Cost when ordering a Model S: $4, 500. Cost to purchase a 21″ Turbine wheel and tire set from Tesla online store: $6, 000.
