Vehicle Details For your consideration: This classic and very rare to find 1972 AMC Hornet. This currently is the only Hornet for sale on E-Bay and there are no completed or sold listings to review.Why are there no Hornets left? Mostly because they were disposable cars that quickly found themselves on the dirt track racing Mustangs and Cameros. This Hornet has some documentation of it's history. The Hornet is a Wyoming car that went to Michigan and then to Florida. The car is in very good condition with some areas of concern. The car has had one respray in it's time. It is a relief to find a car like this with so little rust. The rockers and quarter panels and fenders and floor pans are rust free. There is three spots of rust on the car and they minor. The first is on the inner side of the driver door in the corner, very easily repaired. The second spot is on the outer door skin of the passenger front door. Another easy repair. The third is the trunk lid outer skin has surface rust. The inner trunk lid is perfect and has the original paint. The trunk lid is still good, it just needs sand blasting and repaint.The rear passenger door has a bondo repair that is coming loose and needs to be redone. There is no rust on the door, another easy repair.The wheel arch trim on all four corners is perfect. No one has ever hit the fenders or quarters. The roof is beautiful and no rust is around the windows. The hood is perfect on the outside. The inside of the hood has an alteration to accommodate the Dealer installed A/C unit. The A/C works and blows cold air.Everything works on this car, windows, radio, wipers, ect. It does have tinted glass. It still has the original spare tire with original hardware. Missing the owners manuel. The engine starts right up and is smooth and very powerful. It has no problem achieving highway speed and maintaining it. It feels like a V8. The 727 Torque Flight transmission shifts smooth and true. The tires are still good and have good deep tread. The windshield has no cracks but does have 3 dimples in the glass on the passenger side the appear to have been filled to save the windshield. The interior is all original and still looks great, The headliner too. The dash has some cracking on the top, visible through the windshield but not visible from inside the car. The original carpets are good but could use redyeing. The engine compartment is rust free and unmolested. There is a new Bosch alternator and a new fuel pump. The brakes pull to the right and will need attention soon. The exhaust is quiet. The underside of the car is great, no damage, rust or repairs.Overall this is a time capsule survivor that is unique and a terrific value. I do my best to describe the good and the bad fully. I don't like surprises when buying a car unseen. If you buy a car from me that you feel has been under represented I will return your money less shipping and costs.
