Hi folks, if you are looking for the ultimate driver in the best colors, with all the right stuff, this might be for you. What I have for sale is 1 1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme...and likely a 442. Before we get into if its a real 442 or not...lets start by saying...in 1972, a 442 was a badging option...not a performance one. The only thing to prove a 72 442 is a build sheet...I haven't looked for one...it would have W-25 on it...or if it were a U code 455 or a X code W-30...but that's way beyond the scope of this car. It was born with a 350...then again you could order a 350 2bbl 442 with single exhaust...in all 72...I'm not arguing it...I don't know and don't care...no impact on value in this case. It does have boxed lower control arms...so...its likely.
What we do have is a all original sheet metal car with no patch panels, excellent door seem to skin definition, original quarters...correct and 72 dimpled fenders, with no bondo in them. The prior owner owned the car for 15 years...and the car was repainted the original Viking Blue...and it was NOT a budget paint job...the paint on the car today does not have a rust bubble, no fading...heck...I don't think there is a door ding in the car. Now, it would have been nice if I washed it and armor-called the tires and engine compartment to squeeze that few extra grand out of it...however is full of pig in lipstick...I don't want to look at another one. Sure, the car can use a good detail, a detailing of the engine compartment...and your decision of putting 442 emblems or not. .they welded up the emblem holes when they painted the car...so that is a easy 30 minute fix.
Silly things like the trunk...I didn't want to spray bomb it with spatter paint...it is original, not rotten...and that's. .what you are getting. I'd rather see that than new spatter paint. I didn't even wipe off the chrome air cleaner...because it really is asking for a OAI air cleaner.
The interior is excellent...it looks great...not a bit of wear, no seem splits, no dried out vinyl. .just a beautiful interior...I'd detail it up...but its pretty. Car has cruise control but it is not hooked up. Also a NON A/C car...but heck, for $1, 500 you can install vintage A/C on the car.
The car has a 70 455 in it (365hp) with 71 442 G heads on it. That actually gives you a nice mix of power and the ability to run unleaded fuel.
Everything works...fires right up, runs and drives great.
Where else are you going to get a OAI equipped car in Viking Blue with white interior and a white top...that is rust free...and has beautiful paint, interior, and top...for this kind of money? You won't.
Car is for sale on other venues and may be sold at anytime.
Picture collectors will be ignored. Look at my feedback, it speaks for itself. Not a fire sale.
