Here for sale we have a beautiful 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000. These cars are light, beautiful, and fun to drive.
I have another Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 and every time I drive that car I get lots of thumbs up and people walk to the car and ask about the car, what kind it is, and that it’s a very beautiful car. I have owned many different cars, both old and new and in my opinion the Alfa Romeo GTV is the most fun to drive.
The car in this auction was with the same owner since 1988. The car ran before and was parked in 1993 due to “bad points” according to the previous owner, and was never driven or registered ever since. Unfortunately the previous owner parked the car outside where it suffered from sun damage to the paint and the interior as well as some rust in areas that I have pictured.
I am not a mechanic, but have fixed my own cars throughout the years and have SOME mechanical experience, so I would try to describe this car as best as I can:
- I installed a new battery (not included) and cranked the car, the engine turns freely and there is good compression in all cylinders. The oil in the crank case is black and NOT mixed with water.
- Once I try starting the car the starter keeps turning and I would have to disconnect and reconnect the battery to stop. So my assumption is that the starter relay gets stuck (or the starter solenoid?)
- There is no spark coming into any of the spark plug wires. Additionally, I didn’t get any spark coming out of the main wire from the ignition coil (bad coil?)
- The gasoline in the tank is old and needs to be drained/replaced with new gasoline.
- With the engine off and the car stationary, the transmission shifts into all gears smoothly.
** The plastic battery tray, spare tire, and trunk bottom carpet is included in the sale but not pictured.
I have taken photos of EVERY SINGLE rust spot that I found on the car. The hood, trunk, and door gaps match nicely indicating that the car has not had any major accidents in the past (other than the rear left which is pictured) and all the body parts are most likely the ones that the car came with from factory.
I purchased this car to do a complete concours restoration, but due to lack of funds and mainly TIME (I am a student and have 4 other project cars) I have to let this one go.

I am describing the car from a VERY HONEST standpoint, you would not see this done by many sellers anywhere; but I have been burned by many lying and deceiving sellers. I would not want anyone else to feel that they have been lied to on a purchase so I will do my best to present the car with all the known issues in my listing, No BS, no Scams, No hidden secrets, no dead hookers in the trunk (ok that one was a joke).
This car is also listed locally for sale on local classifieds. I reserve the right to end the auction early if a local buyer purchases the car before auction completion.

Winning buyer is to make a $200 non-refundable deposit via paypal within 48 hours of auction closure and the FULL remainder of the balance is due via Cashiers check or Cash in person within 7 days of auction closure.
I can hold the vehicle for up to 60 days for the buyer to arrange shipment.
