This car has got to be one of the best GTV’s I have owned over the last 20 years - it drives great and looks fantastic. I initially bought it a couple years ago from a client who owned it for many years. He used the car daily and wasn’t too concerned with the cosmetics. The car was mechanically sound but the red paint was faded, the interior was original and needed a cleanup but the car ran great. The odometer reads 11, 871 miles, but I cannot verify what the exact mileage of the car. Since finishing the car, I have taken it to numerous car events and rallies. I have driven it on many trips up and down the coast with no issues. The best thing about this car is you can drive it for hours and not be exhausted when you get out. It’s a great event car for long distance rallies like the Targa California.
The car was repainted in Rosso Alfa (AR501) a little over a year ago. The body was in very good condition and did not require any major repairs. The driver side rear floor pan was replaced by the previous owner a few years back. Other than that, the rest of the floors and spare tire well are in very good original condition. Door handles, lights, bumpers, front and rear windshields, etc. were removed at the time the car was painted. New emblems, front windshield, and grille were put on the car when it was reassembled. Wheels are 14x6 Panasport with 205/60-14 Dunlop tires. The rear bumper has a couple small dents (see link to photos)
I went all out on the interior when putting the car back together. The dash had some cracks and I cannot stand cheap dash caps so I sent it to Just Dashes in Van Nuys, CA and had it properly redone just as it was when it left the factory. I sourced a new wood kit for the dash/center console and even had the gauge cluster sent out for complete restoration (cleaned up the plastic lens', calibrated all the gauges, repainted all the needles, and cleaned up the gauge faces). New door panels, rear parcel shelf, and seat covers were sourced from Europe in the original material and patterns. New black carpet, headliner, rear quarter window hinges, window cranks, inner door handles, vent window knobs, door seals, emergency brake boot, shift boot, and shift knob were added at this time as well. All of the lights on the dash, console, and above passengers function properly. The heater works great and quickly warms up the inside of the car. The steering wheel is in good overall condition. It has some chipping on the sides towards the back. Attention was given to the trunk as well - new carpet installed, gas filler neck rubber boot replaced, and the charcoal canister cleaned out and the hoses were replaced as well. The engine compartment is very clean and presented as it did when new. I found the best unrestored SPICA air box I had and installed it along with new support straps. The firewall data plaque was looking tired so I replaced that as well.
A unique feature this car has that this GTV has which most don’t is that it’s a sunroof car. People call these factory sunroofs, but there is no written proof in books or manuals that they were installed when the cars were built at the factory. What happened is that they were installed on the cars at the port when they first entered the United States before being shipped off to dealers. When the cars showed up at the dealers with sunroofs, it was presumed they were done at Alfa Romeo and called “factory sunroofs”. It is currently not functioning and remains shut all the time. It can be manually opened if you can find a crank that will work on it.
Mechanically, the car is very sound. The motor runs very strong and the SPICA is well tuned. Transmission shifts smooth through all gears on both up and down shift. A new complete Sachs clutch kit and clutch master cylinder were installed about 500 miles ago. At that time I changed all the radiator hoses, fuel hoses, filters, and fluids as well. The suspension is in very good condition and doesn’t need any attention. Springs are red aftermarket “sport” springs from International Auto Parts. New Koni shocks were installed about six months ago all around. Exhaust system is not new but is in good condition with no cracks or leaks.

The car is being sold in as is, where is condition with no warranties expressed or implied. The car is currently registered in California with a clear title in my name. It is the buyer’s responsibility so arrange and pay for all shipping expenses. The car is located in Northridge, California 91324 – you will need this when getting shipping quotes.
A $2, 000.00 non-refundable deposit is due at the end of the auction and can be paid through PayPal. I would like a wire transfer or bank check as method of payment for the final balance which should be paid for in full no later than 5 working days after the auction ends. The vehicle will be released once the car is paid for in full and the funds have cleared.
