1987 Alfa Romeo (75) Milano Tipo161 Designer Ermanno Cressoni. Front engine rear wheel drive. Produced in Arese, Milan. Design innovations and features include;The Milano was almost perfectly balanced front to rear. This was achieved by mounting the 5 speed gearbox in the rear with the differential. Superior handling was optimized by a front torsion bar and shock absorber combo and the rear featured an upgraded de Dion tube assembly with shock absorbers. With the rear brakes centered on the rear axle and the crank shaft bolted directly to the driveshaft handling was markedly superior to others in its class. The body on this particular Milano is original with no cosmetic or body work done There are some rust spots apparent in photos. The finish is worn. . I purchased the car locally from I believe the second owner. It had approximately 55, 000 miles on it at the time of my purchase. I ve driven it summers only and with the utmost of care. Problem areas are; It appears to need master brake cylinder or booster. Pedal is very difficult to compress. The key is permanently in the ignition and is difficult to remove. Rust as appears in photos. All I can say is I ve driven and owned BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Saab. This machine stands head and shoulders above this crowd. It just drives and handles like a dream!
