Price: US $60,000.00
You are looking at a Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT manufactured on September 17, 1965
(Titled as a 1966 in Virginia) that has been recently restored to a very high level. Most of these earliest cars have long rusted away while this one was carefully conserved over the last 50 years before a recent restoration. Tens-of-thousands of dollars and many, many, many hours were spent on the maintenance and restoration of this car. This is one of the finest and best documented Sprint GT's in the country.
This is a rare
Gray Dash 1600cc powered Series 1 step-nose GT
, not a 1300 Junior like most step-nose cars on eBay lately.
Some history of the Giulia Sprint GT from Wiki:
The
Alfa Romeo Giulia
Sprint GT
was the first Giulia sport model introduced, and was manufactured
from 1963 to 1965. It was revealed at a press event held at the newly
opened Arese plant on 9 September
1963, and displayed later the same month at the
Frankfurt
Motor Show. These rare Series I models of the
Bertone body is known as scalino (step) or step front, because of the leading edge of the engine compartment lid which sat 1/4 an inch
above the nose of the car.
The Sprint GT was designed by the then 25
year old Giorgetto Giugiaro when he was working for Carrozzeria Bertone. It was one of his first major projects for Bertone, and he went on to win “Car Designer of the Century” in 1997.
About this car:
This car
was manufactured on September 17th, 1965 at the Alfa Romeo factory
in Arese, Milano, Italy and sold to a US Officer in Frankfurt Germany. The car
was imported into the US in 1972 spending time in several states before
residing in Virginia in 2008. Extensive service, maintenance, and restoration records have been kept on
the car since 1972 showing complete ownership history, oil changes, tune-ups, and tire replacements over the 95, 000 miles currently traveled in 50 years. Most
recently the car emerged from a complete 6 year long restoration that includes stripping
the car down to bare metal, repairing the inevitable rust problems and
refinishing the body in the original Muscho Verde (Musk Green) finishing in
March 2016.
Uninterrupted history of ownership and complete records are known and available on this car for the last 44 years! Coupled with a highly sought after and rare color of Muscho Verde with Tan Leather interior this is the car to have. Don't miss this rare opportunity.

Lets start with a look all the way around this beauty
Corners look good.
Nice and straight down the sides too. Paint is very nice on this car as you can see in the photos.
There's a small chip in the chrome just above the Alfa Romeo front badge.
Four powder coated 15 wheels wrapped in Vredestein's. Notice the correct and hard-to-find hubcaps.
Let's take a look inside this beauty.
Correct grey textured dash. If you know your Sprint GT's you know this is rare to find these days.
Nice leather seating surfaces. Again if you know Sprint GT, you know these seats are correct. But then you also know the door pulls are not correct. Unobtainable.
This car was originally sold to the German market and so it has a German Blaupunkt radio. And yes it works!
220 Km/h is not really that fast. Anyone know what the red thing is?
Good oil pressure
these door pulls are from a later GT Veloce model. The Sprint GT door pulls are NLA.
The blower does not work in the car but did on the bench. Need to dig into this before it sells.
Vintage rear speakers work well.
All original glass except the windshield.
Someone put the decal on upside down.
Very cool German antenna. Hirschmann or Bosch?
Nice fit
Now let's take a look under the hood at the Series 502 1600 motor. Alfa Romeo's of this era did not have matching numbers engines. All indications show that this motor came with this car.
Super clean!
Cavis plug wires, vintage.

Cam timing is right on the marks! Valve gap is in tolerance.
Stack of receipts all the way back to 1972. This is the best documented Alfa Romeo I have ever seen!
Professional DCOE restoration.
Look at these details. It's like this throughout the receipt listings
All these books convey.
Brakes, steering, and suspension all like new.
I need to post a photo of the trunk mat installed.
Checking out the drive train. Super clean all the way back to the axle.
Underside photos. Looks like all the rust was cut out and new front floors installed. Nicely done with metal from Wolfe. All undercoated.
Jack points and inner rockers all solid.
All of the chrome and stainless steel exterior body trim on this car is in VERY NICE condition but some scratches are present.
All of the ORIGINAL light lenses and reflectors are clear, bright, UNCRACKED and BEAUTIFUL!!
