These larger-engined Alfas are rapidly being snapped up by collectors and have been appreciating for the past several years. It’s a car that “ticks all the boxes”... iconic looks (one of my favorite front ends), great to drive, low production numbers (under 7, 000 built) and very original condition.
It appears to have had one repaint a long time ago, or possibly just had several areas touched up. You can see the overspray on the gas tank, under the rear end.
The wonderful brown leather interior is certainly very original and always gets a lot of “ooohhhs and aaahhhs” from my car-guy buddies who visit the garage. The front seats are absolutely like an old leather Lazy-Boy that you night find in grandpa’s garage. The seats aren’t “supple but they’re also not completely dry. The car can be driven very comfortably as-is, with a cushion on the passanger seat if someone is riding with you.
I've had comments from prospective buyers about the cost of replacing the interior etc, but I would encourage the winning bidder to think about keeping this interior and finding sympathetic restoration techniques to try and preserve it. It really does drive my car buddies crazy. IN A VERY GOOD WAY :)
This is a car out of my personal collection. I bought it at the beginning of last year with a view to holding onto it for a long time and watching it go up in value as I enjoyed driving it. I’ve done a little too much buying and have had to now make some tough decisions and let a few cars go. Sadly, this killer little italian coupe is one of them, but it deserves to be in a collection where it’s driven and enjoyed regularly.
This Alfa fires right up and drives great. All lights work properly, the electrics are very good, except the radio, which I purchased but never connected. It is a period correct radio and was advertised as working condition. Clutch is good, brakes are good, doesn’t overheat and idles very well when warm. Also, it’s an historically significant car, being the last Alfa Romeo model to have been fitted with an inline six-cylinder engine with twin overhead camshafts.
As you can see from the undercarriage pics on my website (click the link below), it’s free of any rust concerns and is a good solid example. The paint has a few minor flaws and the interior is original, but this Alfa really needs nothing. It’s had a fresh service and when I got the car, we went through it to correct any significant flaws, like sagging Bertone doors, which is common to Bertone coupes. The doors now hang perfectly and close solidly.

When i bought the Alfa, it didn't have a full set of books or tools. I picked up one reproduction owner’s handbook supplement and I’m piecing together a toolkit, starting with a genuine Alfa tool bag. I’ll do what I can to make it as correct as possible.
