1973 ALFA ROMEO GIULIA SUPER 1.3
This 1973 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1.3 comes to us from Italy after having been in long term storage for 30+ years. It comes from a retired Italian Alfa dealer who kept the best trade-ins for his personal collection. With 40K original miles - fresh paint & body - this is a superb vintage sport sedan.
The body is straight and rust free, minor dents and surface corrosion were repaired professionally, prior to new paint. The interior is comfortable and charming with attractive wood trim and clear, well detailed instrument panel. Very comfortable and supportive front buckets with a roomy back seat and practical trunk. Pre-headrests, the interior has outstanding sight lines and great visibility. This car is ready to enjoy as a daily driver or weekend joy ride. Very collectable and likely to appreciate in value if preserved.
The car was inspected by our specialists in Italy and anything needed was taken care of, including the new paint job. This particular car received a thorough detailing and a major tune up including new battery, all new fluids including radiator fluid, engine oil and filter.
After delivery to the US, we again checked it over and all is in excellent working order. Runs strong, shifts clean and sharp, handles with ease, and just sounds like a classic Alfa should.
The Giulia was produced from 1962 thru 1978, and pioneered the sport sedan concept. Much loved and popular for its enjoyable character and useful configuration the design continued to evolve over the long production run and the mid-70’s models are particularly desirable. Careful development of the aerodynamics utilizing wind-tunnels made for a very slick drag coefficient of only 0.34, remarkable for a sedan at the time … boosting top speed, MPG and providing a fairly quiet ride.
With two Weber carburetors, this is the most powerful version of the 1.3 litre Twin Cam. It produces 88 hp and a robust 103 lb/ft of torque, quite good for an Alfa. Top speed is 165 km/h (103 mph). The european version Webers are generally felt to be relatively easy to tune. Gearbox is the slick shifting Alfa 5-speed manual. Brakes are 4-wheel discs with outstanding feel and stopping power. A very comfortable ride is mated to excellent handling.
The Giulia Super 1.3 is a well developed, late in the model run, Italian sport sedan with a very nimble road feel and excellent handling. With a curb weight of approximately 2, 200 lbs, performance is quite lively.
This is a really exciting car to drive, very practical to own and the original Italian sport sedan. An excellent choice for retro 60’s style, driving fun and a sensible investment.

EURO CLASSIX CARS -- Driven by Passion
Specializing in Classic Italian Cars as Only the Passionate Can
We don't sell cars. We sell history, nostalgia and style. We sell the classic Italian cars of yesteryear to an audience as passionate and enthusiastic as we are. If you love the Alfa Romeos, Fiats and Lancias of old as much as we do, take a look at the beauties we offer. . .or let us know if you're in search of a particular car. We're always looking--we just might find it!
We tap into our extensive network to scour Italy, hunting through old barns and garages, to find these vintage Italian cars. Once we find a treasure, it's shipped to our warehouse location in Northern Italy where a specialist with 40 years' experience meticulously reviews the car and reconditions anything that is not as it should be. This precious cargo is then shipped to the U.S. in small numbers, to our San Francisco location.
This is not strictly business for us -- we have daytime jobs. This is love. We are not your typical car dealers. We are the real deal, men with such enthusiasm for these classic Italian cars that we're going to great lengths to find and preserve them. Why? Because these cars are as familiar to us as our childhoods. Our passion for these cars knows no bounds. We seek them out. We hunt them down. We lovingly recondition them. Our goal is to offer the best authentic, original classic Italian cars, and to build a network of car enthusiasts like us across the globe.
