ACQUIRED THROUGH A REFERRAL TO HELP SELL ON COSIGNMENT. I DON’T KNOW A WHOLE LOT ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE CAR, BUT WILL SHARE WHAT MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN WITH THE CAR THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS….
THE CAR SHOWS A DRIVER QUALITY REPAINT, NOT SURE HOW LONG AGO ?? THE PAINT DOES SHOW SOME AREAS OF “DIRT” IN THE PAINT AND POOR PREP… AS I MENTIONED, NOT SHOW QUALITY, BUT NICE ENOUGH TO ENJOY AND NOT WORRY ABOUT DRIVING THE CAR. TRIM AND BRIGHTWORK APPEAR TO BE ORIGINAL AND DO SHOW AGE. DECENT GLASS WITH WORKING POWER WINDOWS. WORKING POWER SIDE MIRRIORS ALSO SHOW AGE. CONVERTIBLE TOP IS IN OK SHAPE WITH A SMALL TEAR IN THE PLASTIC REAR WINDOW. TOP DOES OPERATE UP AND DOWN NICE WITH NO BINDING OR HANGING UP. WORKING EXTERIOR LIGHTS, SIGNALS, FLASHERS AND WIPERS. WHEELS APPEAR TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE WITH EXCELLENT TREADWEAR ON ALL FOUR TIRES.
COULD USE A NEW INTERIOR. SEATS APPEAR TO BE ORIGINAL, BUT ARE VERY WORN, AGED AND CRACKED. DRIVERS SEAT BELT NEEDS SOME ATTENTION TO CLICK SAFELY- KEEPS HANGING UP ON THE RETRACTOR… WORKING GAUGES OUTSIDE OF THE ODOMETER / SPEEDOMETER. WORKING AFTERMARKET RADIO WITH WORKING POWER ANTENNA. REARVIEW MIRROR IS BROKEN / MISSING. HOOD LATCH, GAS CAP LATCH AND TRUNK LATCH ALL WORK. DOOR PANELS AND DASHPAD APPEAR TO BE IN DECENT SHAPE.
*BELIEVED TO BE* ORIGINAL 2.0L 4-CYL STARTS RIGHT UP AND SETTLES TO SMOOTH IDLE WITH NO SMOKING. GOOD, SMOOTH POWER FROM MOTOR APPEARS TO BE WELL MAINTAINED THROUGH THE YEARS. GOOD CLUTCH TAKEUP. MANUAL TRANSMISSION DOES ENGAGE NICE, ALTHOUGH WHILE DRIVING SECOND / THIRD GEAR SYCROS FEEL WORN. THE CAR TRACKS STRAIGHT WITH GOOD BRAKES. SUSPENSION COMPONENTS FEEL A LITTLE LOOSE AND MAY BE ORIGINAL ?
OVERALL THE CAR APPEARS VERY SOLID- FLOORS, TRUNK AND FIREWALL. THERE IS A SMALL RUST HOLE WHERE THE HOOD CLOSES ON THE FIREWALL. THE CAR COMES WITH ORIGINAL OWNERS BOOKS, SERVICE MANUAL, CLEAN TITLE AND A FOLDER OF SERVICE RECEIPTS / HISTORY.
