Immortalized as Dustin Hoffman’s ride in The Graduate and largely considered one of Pininfarina’s most beautiful designs, this 1990 Alfa Romeo Series 3 Spider Quadrifoglio Veloce is the top of the line model of the Spider range and one of the last built of the Series 3. The Quadrifoglio, Italian for four leaf clover, sits atop the basic Graduate and mid-grade Veloce trims, and comes with a two-tone interior with gray leather and red carpets, side skirts, 15 inch wheels and a factory removable hard top in addition to the soft top, allowing you the choice of roof style depending on your mood or the climate of the day.
Mechanically, this Quadrifoglio comes with a 2.0-liter straight four cylinder producing 130 hp and 119 lb. ft. of torque, that is raspy in sound and loves to be revved. This engine comes mated to a direct 5 speed manual transmission with smooth and precise shift linkages, uniquely located on the dash. 4 wheel disc brakes are also present. Most importantly, unassisted, non-power steering gives the most pure and direct feel through the classic Nardi wood steering wheel. It is also one of the lightest roadsters available at only 2, 550 pounds. This Spider also has Bosch fuel injection and air conditioning.
This Quadrifoglio Veloce is a fine example that has traveled a mere 40, 125 miles, or 64, 200 Kilometers. It’s exterior is finished in the original black, while the interior sports grey leather seats with red stitching and red carpeting, unique to the Quadrifoglio. There are some small scratches common to any car of this era on the exterior, some sagging on the driver’s seat and some door trim touch ups, however there is virtually no rust and the vehicle remains in excellent condition, especially for its age. All electrics work perfectly and both tops fits well with no leaks or degradation. All fluids are new and clean. The vehicle has never been in an accident and has been well taken care of, ready to be enjoyed by you, its next owner.
