Description:

Zero rust whatsoever. 100% complete. All numbers matching. All original from hub caps to air cleaner to exhaust manifolds to AM/FM radio. The original owner was 56 when he bought the car new. The miles are actual, not turned over and claimed to be whats showing like most guys do...what a bunch of B.S. if you ask me. The AMX has never been cleaned since 1973, other than me hosing it off before putting it my garage the day I brought it home. No cracks in the dash. Interior needs cleaned too. Seats, door panels, carpet, dash, steering wheel, all perfect...just dusty. The car was covered in so much dust, you couldn't tell what color the car was underneath.
Always garaged, and never moved since 1973. 69, 000 real actual miles. Real time capsule. Not a barn find, but a garage find here in Southern California. Orig black plates. Engine runs unbelievable. Disc brakes still need to be bled, and gas tank needs to be cleaned. I let the engine idle for 20 minutes, after bypassing the gas tank, and shooting Marvel mystery oil down each cylinder. Little smoke for the first minute, and then cleared right up. Perfect idle, with great throttle response...no hesitation. Runs very cool too...just unbelievable. No lifter noise, no smoke after the first minute. If the brakes were bled, and gas tank cleaned, you could lay posi marks all the way down the street.
The picture of the license plates show the dealer plate the original owner used too. The registration for the dealer plate is in the picture of the glove box. It was issued in 1971. The orig. rear license plate has it's only registration stickers, just 1968 and 1969. The dealer plate was used for the next few years. The AMX was driven to his new house, and shortly after the house being completed, the car and his 1969 Lincoln Mark III never left the garage. When I purchased both cars, all the neighbors came out of their houses to tell me they have never seen the cars out of his garage. It was like a block party as the cars were being loaded onto flatbeds.
The plastic piece between the rear tail lights are missing. I looked for it and just can't locate it. I might have left it at the original owners house. So, please don't count on receiving that piece.
Like I said before, ZERO rust. The paint is old lacquer, and will need to be buffed out. It has touch up in places and a couple door dings. To the left of the left tail pipe in the lower valence, he backed into something, like a paint can, and wrinkled it slightly.
The options I'm aware of: 390, go package (Performance Package) which includes power disc brakes, twin grip posi, stiffer handling suspension, heavy duty cooling system (fan shroud, 7 blade flex fan) redline e70-14 tires, tach? Also has power steering, tilt wheel, am/fm, rare factory head rests, seat belts with shoulder harnesses, A/C, remote mirror.
The car has all it's factory installed parts it left the factory with. The red plastic piece that goes between the tail lights will be the first and only piece that didn't come on this car from the factory. Windows roll up well, and locks work.
Title is in my name. Thanks, Jim
