Description:

This auction is for a quick 5 day auction, and is a relist due to reserve not being met, the owner has since re-considered & therefore lowered the reserve again with a buy it now.
1969 American Motors, AMX not a Javelin, VIN - A 9 C 397 T 195219, Not restored, Driver quality. This auction is for one driver quality 1969 AMX V8 343 4V 280PH version engine (source - AMC website-Vin decoder) car was born with an automatic, but sometime in life converted to a 4 speed manual transmission. (the car was purchased that way) The car is modestly modified with modern day upgrades for driver reliability. Most of the work performed by professionals in the business, such as brake updates, transmission repairs and carburetor rebuild. Car also came with floor shift console, but the console is long gone.
Best history the owner can find was that the car originated in California and found it's way to Arizona, when it was purchased in 2005. There are no known rust issues found, the body and paint is in fair shinny driver condition. The tires and rims are brand new. The Car went through the Arizona required registration testing, and complies with Arizona IM230 emissions requirements and has current valid tags. The car handles very nice, for it vintage, shifts as it should through all the gears, it has a little wine and we are told that is the transmission. We have no idea, so the experts can comment on that.
We are no AMC experts so ask questions, if not answered in this description.
The seats may not be original to this car, but in very nice condition. The passenger side mirror is gone. This is a factory AC car, with most of the parts available except the hoses. we are not sure, there are brackets in the trunk, along with an AC compressor, and have not idea if original or replacement. The door panels are temporary panels the correct ones with the door handles are in the trunk, and may need to be installed, depending on new owners objective. The passenger door glass is missing but a new was ordered but the wrong one was received, with too much time from order date, can not be returned, therefore a new one will be needed, and this other resold, it will come with the car but it is for a Javelin and apparently the AMX and javelin are different sizes. Go figure.
The overall condition of this car is described as good. (above FAIR) Again, this is not a restored car and not represented as one, it is a good all around driver, the paint, glass, interior are driver quality, the photos tell the story. If you are looking for a fully restored car, or an original, this is not it, this car needs some work to completed, with parts that may not be from this particular car, but the car can be enjoyed during that finishing process. I am no expert on AMC, AMX, American motors vehicles, so if there are questions, please ask. I mention it to be up front and open with what I know and not making any claims. there are paint imperfections, but nothing major..

Clear Arizona Title, no issues, no liens, ready for transfer, upon payment.
numbers on the car, but the owner is not sure if they are correct .
the Door tag, driver side, - is not original, so the tag numbers are meaningless.
Plaque numbers from this car are as follows: not sure if they are correct.
line 1 - 009884
line 2 - 6879-7
line 3 - 881-E
line 4 - 45-A
line 5 - E 009822
bottom line, there may be no relevant numbers on the car tags that decode this particular vehicle. sorry about that - but that is what the owner says.
One item confirmed is that the vin number on the car and title are one in the same and correct, based on owner/Arizona DMV confirmation.
Other helpful information from previous inquiries
1) go pack (go package) we do not have any documentation to confirm or refute whether this car has the go pack since that was a dealer installed option. however, it does have two bars attached to the rear axle, (like traction bars) really not sure, so we are saying it did not, to error on the safe side.
2) the T in the vin is decoded to 343 V4, 280 HP, confirmed by a nice ebayer
3) payment, yes the owner will take a check, but not release the car or title until it clears
4) storage, we can keep the car inside, for a few weeks while pick up is coordinated at no charge, but the car MUST be paid for in full, and you should carry insurance during that time. currently the car is insured, so there could be an overlap.
5) Disk brakes: yes for the front, and drum in back
6) AC system: yes the in dash controls are present, as are the vents, the ducting is there, the compressor is in the trunk, (no idea if from 1969, and original or a replacement) it looks as if it was mounted at some point and removed. there are several brackets that could be engine brackets, or AC brackets not sure, there are no hoses. lastly, if the AC is important and considered by a potential buyer, as a major item then I will write that the system while mostly complete, is not functional and is not complete. I stand corrected by my description words that the car was mostly complete. sorry for any misunderstanding or confusion. none was intended, and my mistake.
7) additionally, I took photos of the disk brakes and AC compressor, so if anyone wants to see those, please send an email address and I will gladly forward those photos, ebay will not allow me to add more photos during the auction process. - again sorry about that, I should have been more complete in my original description details.
We confirmed the 343 engine option, T this car is equipment with, a 280 HP engine, however, using the NADA guides obtained the following by selecting the lower HP option for the most conservative price, also I did not add any options, such as AC that might also add to the value, meaning that this information is the most conservative. With some of the AMC classics for sale, on various internet locations, this car is at a minimum a solid 10K car.
