Price: US $3,150.00
For Sale: 1969 AMX. AMX - Badge No.: 13528, Vin No.: A9C397X3409XX. This is the last of four AMX two seaters I have owned, and is by far the best. I believe I am the second registered owner of the vehicle. I have the original Connecticut title evidencing delivery to the original owner on June 1, 1970. The original owner subsequently titled the vehicle in Massachusetts in June of 2003. The original owner then sold the vehicle to an auto wholesaler in 2003, who never registered the vehicle. I purchased the vehicle in June of 2004. The Massachusetts title indicates actual mileage of 138, 366 in June of 2003. When I purchased the vehicle in June of 2004, the odometer read 138, 900. Despite the fact that I have owned the vehicle for more than 10 years, I have driven it very little. The current odometer reading is 141, 700.
Before I purchased the vehicle, it had undergone significant restoration efforts. The vehicle was repainted and underwent other repairs in 1999 at a cost of $17, 500.00. In 2003, the engine was rebuilt at a cost of $3, 700.00. In 2003, the interior was restored.
Since I purchased the vehicle in 2004, I changed the exhaust system to the trendsetter side exhaust system. The side covers are original. The vehicle comes with the standard exhaust system, without the tailpipes.
I also added the rally pack instrument cluster; however, the oil and electrical gauges are not operational. As to the engine, I changed out the original manifold for an original RB4 Edelbrock aluminum manifold (the car comes with the original intake manifold). I also replaced the original carburetor and the original distributor. The vehicle comes with the original Carter AFB carburetor and the original distributor. Lastly, I replaced the aftermarket radio with an original AM/FM radio.
The car is in great condition as you can tell from the photographs. The paint is not perfect, as the car was repainted 15 years ago, but I would judge it a 10 footer. The body is very straight, as you can tell from the photographs.
The car runs strong; however, there is some slippage in the automatic transmission. The interior and trunk are in good condition.
All-in-all, the vehicle is in excellent condition. The vehicle is located in Orlando, Florida, and as it is for sale locally, it may be withdrawn from ebay if sold locally. If you have any questions, please ask.
A deposit of $2, 000.00 is required within 24 hours. I have lowered the reserve slightly. The vehicle was undercoated. The vehicle was appraised in 1999 at 22, 000.00. The transmission doesn't slip under acceleration, in fact it usually chirps shifting into second. The transmission probably would not slip during a test ride, but it slips occasionally usually when accelerating in 2nd or 3rd at low rpm. Overall the car is in great shape and will sell at far less than I have in it.
