1978 AMC Gremlin

AMC Gremlin (1978)
for sale

Price: US $200.00

Description:

1978 was the end for Gremlin. With half a million sold from 1970 to 78, it was AMC's best selling car. This car has had the following done in the last 2000 miles - rebuilt auto transmission, front disc and rear drum brake pads, 4 gas shocks, alternator, tires, freeze plugs, n.o.s. carb 1981 (have original), aftermarket catalytic converter, replacement carpet, dash cover, no cracks in dash, aftermarket seats (have decent originals), spare alternator, misc other parts to upgrade car (power brake setup, n.o.s. digital clock).
Know what your getting into. . The car has rust in the corners of the doors, there is bondo in fenders, fairly minor bodywork needed, slightly tweaked bumpers. Grille is shot. AC blows cool, not cold. ALT light stays on even though it is charging fully (hence the new alternator). Old repaint of original color is crap. roof rack missing the strips on roof. Face it, its old so if you don't like to tinker and wrench, then an old car is not for you! BUT. . Its a Calif. car so rust is minor. The car always starts right up and has been very reliable. Engine/trans parts are easy to get thanks to Jeep using them for many years. You WILL be stared at and people WILL have questions, stories and comments. Its a fun car! I've had the car 10 yrs but only put about 2000 miles on her.
