RELISTED!!! The first time I gave the impression that this wasnt the original engine so. . The second time the winner just wanted to bid it up... so now since that has cost $120 for nothing its on a classified ad. Up for grabs is my daily driver 1977 AMC Gremlin with 88k showing but may be actual because it sat outside behind a dealership in Shawnee with a bad clutch since 1983 and then I purchased it about four years ago. Since owning Ive put over 40k miles on it. Ive replaced the clutch and cable, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, calipers, brake hoses, rotors, master cylinder, starter. new exhaust, fuel pump, carb rebuild, wheels and tires, and had the fuel tank cleaned and sender replaced. Im sure it still needs some things as Ive never really checked the front end. You can drive it anywhere as is or it would be great for a concours restore. There are things that I never replaced like the windshield and rear rubber glass seal. All carpet and front seats are pretty worn out. The dash is toast but I have a good one to be painted and installed. Also have two good taillights and door handles to be installed as the pass outside handle is inop right now. There is an AC compressor and condensor under the hood but there is no inside unit. Thats the way it was when I got it. The tires have lots of life left and the wheels and centercaps are from a Dart I think. There is absolutely no rust on the floorboards, try and find that on any other old Gremlin (check pics). There are some rust spots along the edges of the rear fenders (check pics). Small rust spots under the taillights (check pics). All rust is pictured so no surprises. Has the 2.0 liter that was designed by VW/Audi and later redesigned by AMC. This was the first year to use this engine. This engine was used in the Gremlins and DJ postal Jeeps from 1977 until 1979. It is paired with the 4spd manual transmission that was new for that year. Very few Gremlins were produced with this drivetrain combo this year. Its a little cold blooded but runs great when warm. Clean and clear title in my name with up to date tag. In summary, Obviously not a low mileage survivor showpiece but an honest daily driver thats great to drive or even better to restore. Prepare to spend plenty of time at gas stations listening to stories and answering questions. BEST. . CAR. . EVER. . Thanx for looking. Look at the pics and ask questions. International welcome.
