Always wanted a Mad Max car but didn't have the 100K to pay for one? Well neither did I so I built the next best thing!!
What you're looking at is a fresh restore on a rare 1973 AMC Javelin AMX!
It's got the original 360ci block with headers, a paired Comp thumper series cam & lifters set, electronic ignition, an Edelbrock high rise intake, a 750 Edelbrock 4bbl carb, double roller timing chain, performance chrome coil & a shotgun type scoop/breather. Starts up & runs/sounds/drives great...has a great THUMP to it although with all old carbureted cars, it's a little cold natured. The transmission is a 727 automatic with a shift kit. .. Shifts great!Rear gears are the factory 287 posi. It IS an A/C car & it's all there. .blows but not super cold. I'd say it needs converted & recharged.
The paint is beautifully done in high gloss black with flat black bumpers & trim as well as the added AMX T styled ghost stripes. The grill is custom... Cut down & fitted from a 1969 Camaro for a more stealthy look.
The tires are new...295/50/15 on the rear with 2 spacers and 215/65/15 on the front. All are mounted to new Black Bart D series wheels. (15x8 in rear, 15x7 in front)
The black interior is damn nice & has custom hydro-dipped carbon fiber dash and door panel inserts, an adjustable sound police siren as well as a dash mounted removable blue light.
This car is pretty much road & show ready... I've had it at two shows and have brought home two trophies if that's your thing. The sound system is a new Alpine CD head unit with Pioneer speakers in the rear, JL Audio in the front.
The car has also had a new HID headlight system installed.
Also included with the car is a Mad Max replica air soft shot gun...not a cheap looking toy, but made of metal & wood. The dog, the dink-di can & a Mad Max jacket with metal badges are also included.
Now for the bad. ..
The car has a few minor electricial issues. ..
I say minor because everything I've fixed so far has been just that...Dash lights don't work. Gauges: The oil pressure, voltage, temp & the clock DO work, however the fuel, speedo & tach DO NOT, although an aftermarket tach has been installed.Vids of the car can be found here: here after the motor beefed up here: here and I mean SERIOUS buyers with cash are more than welcome to come check out the car if you're in my area but NO JOY RIDES.
