Description:

2nd owner, I purchased this Mini in 1979 and performed a top to bottom rebuild including an upgrade to a 4 sped syncro transmission, engine rebuild by Boghosian Racing Engines of Fresno, California, new custom interior with Paddy Hopkirk seats, Smiths tachometer, body and paint. It was a family car and the 4 of us racked up around 100, 000 miles in the next 10 years, gathering memories and fun times, the car never missing a beat or leaving us stranded during that time.
In 1990, I went through the car again, with new body and paint, Innocenti flares, 2nd fuel tank, new Mini-lite style alloy wheels, new upholstery, a full top to bottom body and trim package. We took it to car shows and club events, winning many awards as the car was perfect, except for the many, many miles on a now tired engine. So, in 2010, I undertook another upgrade to the car, this time a complete mechanical, electrical, suspension and paint going thru. The engine was set up with a new alloy head, alloy rockers (1.5:1) LCB, new internal ingredients, pistons, rings, bearings, high flow oil pump, rebuilt SU's, the best of everything. All engine work was again performed by Boghosian Racing Engines in Fresno, California. Suspension upgrades include adjustable front and rear suspension. New wiring harness, and engine bay clean and repaint.
The car again was relegated to the weekend show in good weather, and road trips. In 2010 we went on a 3, 000 mile trip around the Grand Canyon in 2 weeks. No issues, the car is now really very close to perfect, well as far as any car can be perfect. then back to the garage to wait for another adventure.
In 2014, we shipped the car from Long Beach, California to Felixtow, UK in August. It traveled thru the Panama Canal and arrived in Felixtow out of the container on September 2. The day before we are to meet Steve Edmond and the rest of the Mini Cooper crazies for the Italian Job Tour to Turin. We met up in France and off we went, following out fearless leader thru unknown lands and unfamiliar fuel. After driving on the top of the Fiat Factory roof, we headed back to the hotel Aigle in Courmayeur Mount Blanc, Italy. The rest of the group went back to England, and we are of to ??? for the remaining 6 weeks thru Italy, France, and back to England. We racked up around 3, 500 miles and got an average of 30mpg. Leaving our Mr. Mini with some new found friends in Newcastle.
Our next adventure will be the last with Mr. Mini, the International Mini Meet in Belguim this May. So sadly, he will be looking for a new home and family.
Since we have been gone, he made a visit to Red and White, and once I return, he will go again for a check up to make sure he will pass a MOT. There is absolutely no rust, nor has ther ever been any, this car being cared for most meticulously.
He is not inexpensive, but well worth the investment. Although the Heritage certificate indicates this is a 1275 car, It has never had any other engine except a 1071 since first sold in 1967 in California. The new buyer will receive all original parts off the car, shipped from California, soon after my return in late May.
