Description:

A truly AWESOME project car. 1949 Austin A40 with a HUGE collection of vintage speed parts to build a nostalgic gasser drag racer. The first couple pics are of the car mocked together. This car has a trailer axle mounted in the rear to make it a roller. You will need a trailer to haul it. I hate the fact that I have decided to sell this car and all it's pieces, but I have too many projects and a move is forcing the sale. These cars never come up for sale. .here is your chance. I have owned the car for about 7 years and all that time I have been collecting parts to complete the car into what I considered a great nostalgia gasser. The body is all steel from the cowl back. The body itself is solid with a little rust at bottom of doors and rockers. The doors have the original window regulators in them. Doors are steel. It was an old drag car from the '60's, so it has been hacked on quite a bit. There is not much left of the floor or firewall but more than likely you will be fabricating these anyway. I was setting car up to run a 327 cu in Chevy and have many, many parts towards that goal. I have the 327 mocked up (this is NOT a running engine) with a powdercoated tunnel ram and dual holleys, Moroso deep sump pan, fenderwell headers, finned aluminum valve covers and an old style fiberglass scoop. I have all the internal parts for the 327. I have an aluminum case Powerglide transmission with trans brake valve body. The trans needs to be rebuilt. You get 2 complete rear end set-ups: one is a complete square tube rear frame section with a Chrysler 8 3/4 narrowed to a very small 39 flange to flange measurement, ladder bars with diagonal link, and coil-overs. The other is the stock leaf springs and a Ford 9 Posi narrowed to 44 with 4:11 gears. This would fit between original rear frame rails without alteration. You get 2 complete front end set-ups as well: a Dodge A100 solid axle, drum brakes and leaf springs, and also a dropped tube axle with transverse buggy spring and hairpins. This is the axle I was going to use so I have all the mounting hardware, brand new spindles, king pins, and disc brake set-up from Speedway. Look at pictures for all the other valuable vintage speed equipment...it was tough to get pics of it all, but there is ALOT here. Everything goes with the car! Some other parts: 4 steel rear fenders, brand new 1950 Pontiac Tail lights, Anderson Industries (Ai) 1 piece fiberglass flip front end (race weight), 4 seats: 2 low back fiberglass with upholstery (old and perfect for car) and 2 Dodge A100 seats like used in the AFX cars, 1970's Pro Stock style chrome hoop roll bar, brand new MOON gas pedal, Moon 4 hole Vintage fuel tank, Diest Parachute and handle, Hurst Shifter and custom gasser driver shift knob, Wheelie Bars, Mallory Mini-Mag distributor with cable drive, Moroso cable drive tach, extra set of coil over shocks, vega steering box, steel fuel cell (10 gallon?), 4 1/2 ft long old-school chrome ladder bars!, Wheels are brand new Cragars with new Firestone tires in front, rears are 10 Aluminum Slots with slicks mounted, I have a couple gauges and consoles, Autometer oil pressure and water temp gauges, dual oil filter kit, Pro Comp gear drive, and Original Austin Hood Ornament. Pictures should show you the accurate condition of car. I have set a reserve that is LESS than what I have in parts alone. . No games, no lies, no foolin'. .this is a great car project. No Title, Bill of Sale Only. No text messages. Buyer must make all shipping arrangements or pick-up in person. Winning bidder to pay $750 deposit by PayPal until car is picked up. Car expected to be picked-up within 2 weeks of close of auction unless other arrangements have been made and accepted by seller. Communication is key! Let me know if any questions Thanks.
