1963 Austin Mini Countryman. I purchased this car from the original owners brother. I have the original purchase receipt for this car dated 10-9-62 Sold to European car parts, ltd. St. Louis Missouri for a cash price of $1, 744.00. I have a registration stapled to the original bill of sale dated 12-1967, The title is dated 1971. There is a sticker on the inside of the drivers side door frame from an old Conoco Phillips service station reading 24, 330 miles dated 4-19-67, the odometer now reads 24, 333.3 this all leads me to believe these are the original miles, but I can't be sure. The brother I purchased the car from had intentions of doing a full restoration but due to old age, time, and other projects he decided not to. He said that this car ran like a top when it was stored years and years ago. It was originally used as a company car in St. Louis and still sports the original logo on the passenger side door. It was transferred to Utah in the 1980s and was stored in a dry garage on top of a metal platform above a Austin moke. The engine turns and there are no weird noises. He cleaned the carburetor about two years ago but that's as far as he got. He said it should be cleaned again and that it will need a new gas tank, brakes gone through, battery, tires etc... Typical repairs for a car that has been stored for this many years. My intentions were to keep this car, although house restoration unfortunately comes first. The only thing I have done to this car is wipe down some dust and clean up the windows. It already has a great original patina. This mini would look so good if all the interior was scrubbed clean, wood trim lightly sanded and refinished, paint buffed out, chrome polished, etc... To the best of my knowledge this car is mostly complete, minus the passenger side seat. As you can see in the pictures, I have all the parts that go with it. The original hub caps sitting in the car are in great condition, along with the rest of the parts. I have the original owners manual, there's a spare tire with lug wrench, interior panels, floor mats etc.. The floor mats are in very good condition and do not have many tears. Please look closely at all the pictures of the parts to see what is all there. The key for the ignition was lost so you will have to have one made. The drivers side floor has some rust holes as you can see, but the rest of the floors feel solid and look good from the inside. There is rust underneath but I did not see any other holes. There are two holes on each side of the car on the rear of the front fenders, I do not know why or if something was mounted in those spots at one time, or if that is a known spot to weather. aside from a dent on the roof, the body is straight considering its age. I could go on and on about how cool this car is but I think from the pics, video and description you can see for yourself. I have a clear open title from the previous owner. The car is located in a enclosed storage unit in Hurricane, Ut. It will need to be picked up there by you or your transporter. The car must be picked up within 3 weeks of the auction ending, if you need more time it must be discussed prior to auction ending. I will not be there to assist in loading the car. The key to the storage lock will be mailed to you or your transporter usps signature certified mail. If you need assistance with shippers, price quotes please let me know.
