Super hard to find Healey '67 BJ8 that's never been apart it's kind of both better and worse than the pictures convey ... It needs paint ... It's needs minor body work ... But it's super straight ... Gaps are great ... Doors shut with a gentle swing and click ... Needs paint, front floors, rear dog legs ... Straight un-hit frame ... Strong outriggers ... Runs well - see prior owners tuning efforts below ... Interior original and usable ... New dash panels convey ... Nice painted wire wheels ... Old tires that hold air ... Chrome is good but not excellent ... Low reserve on hard to find last year of production original BJ8 ... call or write with questions ... 410-963-0547 Phil ... Too many cars ... Several in line to be restored first ... I bought this recently to restore later ... I couldnt resist it ... Barn is full and something has to go ... I'm a collector not a dealer, I'm fun and cool but not dumb ... Bid accordingly ...the Healey expert I bought this BJ8 from listed the car on Ebay a few months prior, and he described it as follows:
Nice
BJ8 for sale. Unmolested southern car with very little rust. Originally a red
car with black interior, now painted Healey silver-blue. This car has never
been apart and the body lines are outstanding. The front shroud and grill area
are excellent. There is some rust in both of the footwell sections and some
very minor rust in the rear doglegs. There is also some minor rust in the trunk
floor. The sills, main floors and
outriggers are all solid with only a little rust on the inner sill on the right
side. It has the original servo and it has been bypassed. The interior
(original black) is certainly restorable with the rear seats and sqaub intact.
The car is running and the HD8 carburetors have been rebuilt. It has recently
had the gas tank and fuel pump replaced. Both rear wheel cylinders and brake
shoes are new. All hydraulic flex lines are new. It has new front brake pads. The brakes and
clutch work fine. The gearbox is very good with no noise in 1st
gear. The overdrive is untested. The engine holds very good oil pressure. It has 60 spoke painted wheels with bias ply
tires. The convertible top is shot. Odometer shows 60K with the original decal
on the glass. If you are looking for a good Austin Healey MKIII to restore, this is the car. Unlike most, this car has never been apart and is a great car
to consider for restoration or drive as it is.
