This beautiful 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MK III is the perfect car for someone who wants to enjoy driving twisty roads with the top down. The frame-up restoration converted the car from its original white to Colorado Red metallic paint with black vinyl interior to show off the original shiny spoke wheels. The owner at the time spent $4, 500 on the paint job alone, while spending another $19, 000 to finish it.
There are 53, 468 miles on the car, and less than 8, 000 miles since the restoration which took place in the late 1990’s. It is in great condition, not show quality, but still gorgeous. The three owners all garaged the car for its entire life and it has no rust. The gauges all work and the car has the original Blaupunkt radio. This particular model does have overdrive. The tonneau cover doesn’t quite fit and there is a small cut in the back seat upholstery. A set of driving lights are not attached, but will go with the car, along with a manual and a set of tools. We also have a full service history from the current owner for your records.
The owner loved this car dearly, but due to age (his, not the car’s), is unable to enjoy it as much as he once did. If you are a Californian, we have gotten notification that we will be getting a personalized plate for the car. The plate will copy the 1960’s California plate with a black plate with yellow letters. The plate will read “66 BJ8”. Won’t that look perfect?
