Description:

You are bidding on a
1962 Mark II 3000 'Tri-Carb' Austin Healey.
These cars are very rare and are very sought after as only 5095 Tri-carbs were ever produced between one year only in 1962. These cars were the only Healey's ever offered with the triple carb setup similar to the high performance Jaguars. This car is a VERY ORIGINAL Numbers Matching Mark II 3000, BT7 Tri-Carb. The car comes with a
Heritage Certificate
from 1983 verifying the engine number, VIN number, and body number as it left the factory.
All numbers match
and all tags are original from the factory. The car underwent a restoration in 1982/1983 by the 2nd owner who then
owned the car for the next 31 years.
All receipts and records since 1980 come with the car. The car was put in dry storage from 1987 to 2003 at which time all mechanicals were gone through. To mention just a few of the things that were replaced or rebuilt...
..
new gas tank, new battery, new clutch, new brakes, rear seals, new front shocks, rebuilt carbs, red line tires, new interior, new tonneau, new side curtains and side curtain cover, new soft top, and a beautiful Lola Lita wood steering wheel, all in excellent condition.
Side curtains and soft top window are perfectly clear.
EVERYTHING works
as it should including heater, fan, wipers, horn, electric overdrive, lights, high beams, blinkers, all gages, and all interior lights. Even the original water bottle for the windscreen washer is in tact and in excellent condition. In addition to the soft top and tonneau cover, the car comes with another cover to cover the cockpit while storing the car for storage. Chrome is good, front bumper could use rechroming or leave as-is, rear number is excellent. Old English White exterior with Red interior, and black tonneau and black top. Always garaged, California car. Odometer reads 22, 555 but actual milage is uncertain. Car was driven to AH rallys and local car shows most of it's life, as it is today. VIN # HBT7L16890, Engine # 29E RU H 3183, Body number 16862, date built December 13, 1961. One small dent (size of quarter) on front fender can easily be formed out (cannot pick this up in a photo). A few nicks and scratches as one would expect from a 30 year old restoration. One broken spoke on the right rear wheel but overall all wheels including the spare are excellent condition. Overall the car is in excellent original condition and needs nothing. The undercarriage is solid with no signs of rust. The frame and floor boards were undercoated at one time, and all sheet metal is solid without bond. The car starts at the push of the button, has outstanding oil pressure, and shows no signs of smoke.
I am ready to retire and need to sell this car as I have no room for it. I have purposely set the reserve far below the suggested Hagerty book value. You will find totally restored Tri-carbs that are approaching six figures or more but here is a car you can get for less than half that much and you will have yourself an outstanding investment to drive and show. The Hagerty price guide values a #2 condition Tri-carb at $58, 300 but my reserve is set far lower than this. If you want a really nice Tri-carb Healey, call me and we can talk. Call Jan at 952-four five seven - 8437. If you need more pictures or have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, I will try to respond within 24 hours. I have tried to describe the car in every detail the best I can. As always, an inspection in person is suggested if possible. The car is being sold as-is, where-is, and no warranty is expressed or implied. Thank you for looking and best of luck bidding. .!
