This 3000 is likely among the most dependable and tour-worthy Healeys in the USA. Along with the restoration, several upgrades make this Healey far superior to a standard 3000:1) 1980 Nissan 280-ZX engine & 5-Speed transmission. This is a bolt-in upgrade; no cutting, drilling or welding was required. (Original Healey engine and O/D transmission included) 2) Brand new Dunlop Radial tires & new Dayton 60-Spoke chrome wire wheels. (Original painted wire wheels included) 3) Brand new Healey Stainless Steel exhaust system sounds nice and throaty, just like a stock Healey4) Air Conditioned with modern R-134 system.
Also includes the Factory Hardtop -- These rare Factory Hardtops sell in the $4000 range (when you can find one for sale).
The car's paint is excellent overall (you'll be accused of driving a show car but there are some minor chips and blemishes). The interior is very nice and the chrome & stainless are excellent, as you can see. The panel fit is outstanding, and the doors, hood and trunk all shut beautifully, as expected on a straight car with no frame sag (& never any collision damage). Being a southern car, the frame rails and outriggers are straight and solid, as are the original floorboards and trunk floor. Please notice the upgraded reflective stainless panels added over the original hard asbestos heat shields. These panels are the key to keeping the cockpit cool and comfortable on long high-speed drives. The car also carries retracting 3-Point over-the-shoulder Jaguar seat belts for added safely.
