This is a nearly unrepeatable opportunity to buy one of the best Bugeye/Frogeye Sprites out there. This car was restored to an exacting standard using only top quality and rare parts to bring this low mileage rust free car up to spec.
It started out with a 1 family owned rust free Bugeye that while worn was complete and in good shape. The car was disassembled completely and professionally by a local British Car restoration shop. The body was sent out to one of the best local shops for any repair and repainting in its original color, 'Iris Blue' which in my opinion, is one of the best colors on these great little cars.
When the car returned the assembly began with all the new, NOS and rebuilt parts they had been scouring the world for.
The engine is the original matching numbers motor that has been fully rebuilt, balanced and run in. It has the original and rare SU carbs as well as the rare original air filters, tach drive generator, and other rare and original items that are usually missing.
The brakes and suspension were also rebuilt with all new parts where needed with as much as original restored to as new condition
At this time the car was converted to run minilite alloy wheels that it wears in the pictures.
The original steel wheels and hubcaps come with the car.
The interior was not overlooked either. This car has a full leather interior which was custom made by a local upholstery craftsman who specialized in vintage european cars. Not only are the seats full leather, but the dash is covered in leather as well. Several carpet kits were ordered and rejected before having the same shop custom cut and bind new carpet for the car. The door pockets were painstakingly rebuilt exactly as orignal as well (a common shortcut area). The result is one of the best Sprite interiors I have seen. It's Beautiful!
It of course has new weather equipment such as a new top & side curtains. It also comes with an original jack, owners manual, car cover and other small items.
There are countless upgrades and touches on this car that are too numerous to mention such as a fully refinished and polished aluminum trim, stainless steel bolts and hardware everywhere, etc. It is truly the best Sprite I think you could have built. To replicate this car would cost well over my 'buy it now' price. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime.
This car is being reluctantly sold less than a year after its restoration, so please be a serious buyer. It will be sold.
