As a previous Bentley and Rolls dealer and experinced car auction buyer and seller, Id like to inform my buyers that auctions and auctioneers announce things for several reasons. Everything an auctioneer announces will always be recorded on the cars history through autocheck.com. This does not mean the information is correct. Not to offer a warranty on the car and to sell the car through a green light, dealers announce a frame damage so that the car is sold as is and there is no taking back later. For some dealers its only business and they do not care about the cars history later. A typical auction and dealer game. The car has no structural damage.
Up for sale is this 1997 Bentley Brooklands with only 36670 miles. The vehicle has a clean Texas Title. The vehicles previous owner had financial difficulties and was forced to sell the vehicle. In the past year no service was performed on the vehicle and it was parked mostly in the past 3 years. It will need the following services completed. This Bentley will require front and rear brakes. It will need an oil change. Because the car set for the past 3 years and was only driven once a week and sometimes even once a month, the front seat modules went out from not using. The rear gas springs will need replacement. The front shock mounts need replacement. Ive had the vehicle fully examined and Im am disclosing every known issue for my buyer to be aware. Being in Bentleys and Rolls for year and seeing cars sold that I owned before, I realized that most sellers do not disclose issues I know the particular car has. I owned more than dozen of these and lots of cars on the market were at some point mine. Once a Brooklands is fixed and put back on the road and driven daily, it will be a very good driver and a reliable car. In my oppinion any older Bentley you obtain will have issues and the buyer will need to spend on it.
The wood is in phenomenal shape with no cracks. The leather is perfect. All door handles are in very good shape and no wear shows on them. The headliner is perfect. Steering shows some scratches from a ring. The car has such clean interior. The back seats are like new. All glass is perfect. Paint is perfect all around besides the drivers doors which were obviously painted. There is a small ding on the hood that can be removed. Wheels are perfect and it has AVON tires. The year on them is old so they will need replacement at some point.
This car has low miles and the cleanest interior you will find. I have done the math with my Bentley mechanic and came up with $5000 to make this car a perfect road machine. This is an honest number and an honest sale. The car is a beauty but needs work. It will be hard to come up with a 36000 mile vehicle in black. The car does have a clean Texas title and its with me. I owned the vehicle for 2 months. I loved the Brooklands and I was looking for one for a while, but after I bought the car, I realized that I dont have the same feeling for the model anymore and all though these drive much better than the Arnage, I decided to buy an Arnage. If I am going to lose a buyer over my honesty, I will live with it, which I know its going to be the case, but you are not buying pare of shoes and I could not live with it, if I told you the car was perfect. Ive purchased several vehicles on ebay and elsewhere where sellers claimed a perfect car and they lied. The feeling was bad. The toolbox and even the gloves are in the trunk.
