Review from another owner
The 2003 525i is a classic, and in every sense a world-class vehicle. Quite a good value, but I will never stop driving my 525i for fun, for that luxury feel and comfort, for that unbelievable handling and precision. As the last and most refined of the E39 series, it is just the best car, much more of a driver's car than even the 2004, and far more so than today's 5 series.
Best Features
Smooth, precise, comfortable ride. Only car that ever lived which handles like that and rode like that. This ain't no luxury car for the grandparents, unless they like doing 130 MPH for fun. Did I mention what it feels like at high speeds (which I 100% did legally only on the autobahn, uh-hu)?
Worst Features
None. Okay, those flimsy cup-holders could change. Seriously, BMW, just re-issue this, like they do for Vintage Fender guitars. Why did you improve the driver's experience out of the 5 series? I guess the 1% can't drive worth a heck anymore?
Items to bring to your attention
* It starts up every time and the new battery is in good shape after just 1 year.
* Aftermarket Navigation, Amplifier and Sub-woofer have been installed. If you do not want it then I will take it out and discount the price to an agreeable amount.
* I have always used synthetic oil and changed it every 5000 miles or less.
* The car has new air filters for the engine as well as the cabin.
* The AC works as well as all of the windows, locks and the factory alarm.
* The car thinks that it is -40 degrees outside all of the time. This just started happening about a month ago but it does not hurt anything.
* There are minor blemishes on the paint and exterior because the car is not new. It was my daily driver until I got an electric car.
* The passenger seat's backrest does not power forward and backwards properly... they actually happened to my last two BMWs too, so it was expected.
The car is posted for sale locally, too. If sold there, then I will end the auction early here.

“Posted for sale locally * Small crack in the windshield * Car thinks that it is -40 degrees outside always * Passenger seat back does not adjust properly * Car leaks a tiny amount of oil (I spent $450 to fix two leaks) * Starts a little rough after a cold night & goes away quickly though” |
