Each BMW dealer received one of these Laguna Seca blue (LSB) M3s as a demo in 2001. This particular M3 went to Schaeffer BMW of Wilmington, NC, but was never used as a demo, instead Schaeffer sold this M3 to its first owner with 23 miles showing on the odometer. That owner wanted a convertible, and one came available two months later. The first owner bought the convertible and sold the LSB to me two weeks after 9/11/2001 occurred. I have owned the car ever since. It has always been stored in an insulated garage, and obviously sparingly used. The miles are no misprint, at 28, 827.
This is the unicorn. The only aftermarket items on the car are the Borla cat-back exhaust and Formula 1 window tint (NC legal). I have OEM upgraded several items using BMW factory new parts. I installed the front shock tower brace, ZCP brake rotors, pads, and caliper hangers, rear LED taillights, 6 disc CD changer, alarm system, Homelink, M3 floor and trunk mats, and more.
Recent maintenance includes a thermostat, engine driven belts, OEM battery, yearly Castrol TSW oil and filter changes, anti-freeze flush using BMW anti-freeze, brake fluid flush with ATE high-temp fluid, alarm siren, new Michelin Pilot Sport in 245/35 ZR 19 and 275/30 ZR 19 sizes, and more.
I have all the keys, books, video tape, and every record generated during my ownership. I have title in hand. I will include the hard-wired Valentine One radar detector that is shown.
I am an FAA licensed Airframe and Powerplant mechanic with an electrical engineering background, and I have maintained and driven this car accordingly. You will not be disappointed!
