I have a 2002 BMW M3 E46 for sale. I am selling this car because my degree as well as career which is construction requires me to have a vehicle which can accommodate a crew as well as materials and equipment. I graduate this fall and need to sell the car. I never intended to sell this car when I purchased it almost three years ago. I want this car to go to someone who cares about cars as much as I do. I've taken a lot of care for this vehicle this has been my favorite car thus far. I tried selling the car earlier this year and someone won the auction and then backed out on me due to having the car financed through Wells Fargo. The car is now fully paid off and the title is in hand. So I ask to please read this in detail and ask any questions you might have that was a very rough month trying to deal with the customer.
As you will see in the pictures the car has been well maintained. This car has brought me two first place trophies at NOPI Nationals last year. This car has been kept top notch clean. I will tell you everything about the car and any problems it has.
The exterior has as expected basic dings and scratches that are accumulated with a daily driver car. The rear taillights are upgraded from the stock to a set from a 2006 BMW M3. This will cause the classic tail light error light to come on the dash which goes away when the headlights come on. This car also comes with 20 Breyton Race GTRS rims with Hankook 305/25/20 on the rear and 255/30/20 on the front. These tires have approximately 80% tread from when they are placed on the car. The rear tires are larger than what I had usually run and a little to wide causing them to rub when hitting larger gaps in the road or bad bumps. I have grown accustomed to the sound. The tires will not rub any further than they have. This can be fixed by just getting a smaller width of tire.
The interior has the Imola red leather seats. the rest of the interior is a mix of red and black as well as carbon fiber door paneling and other smaller bezels. As seen in the pictures I keep the carpet covered with towels between shows. This car has a upgraded from stock stereo unit but has the original Harman/Kardon speakers. The car does have a trunk mounted amplifier that came in the car, I do not have anything hooked up to it. A current problem which was occurring when I purchased the vehicle is that when placing the SMG in reverse it may not immediately recognize the change. However 90% of the time it does. If it does not recognize the change simply take it out of reverse and back to it. This car also comes with two keys, one new and one original. The windows are tinted 20% around, however the rear window is not tinted because it began to bubble so i removed the tint and cleaned the window.
The engine is stock with an added K&N cold air intake system. The pulleys have been replaced from the stock solid plastic to a reliable set of aluminum ones from Turner Motorsport. All the belts and pulleys and tensioners have been replaced on the car. This car also has a new battery purchased roughly 8 months ago. The guibo gear and CSB have been replaced on the car these are located on the driveshaft component of the vehicle. The VANOS has also been rebuilt. This car also comes with the Shark Injector which is just a upgrade to the software which pulls a couple more horsepower along with better driving quality. This can be reverted back to stock with included instructions. The car has 129, 000 Miles on it as it as a daily driver. The pictures will show the check engine light on which is due to a pre cat O2 sensor which I am ordering tonight and will be installing this week ~ 150$. I have a code reader which will also come with the car.I purchased it at ~ 82, 000 Miles.
This car also has had the rear springs as well as all 4 shocks replaced in the car. The car also comes with a driveshaft I purchased from a fellow M3 friend who had taken it out of a car with only 31k miles on it. These parts are sitting here for when the time came for maintenance. Reason for the extra driveshaft is I was given an estimate on a driveshaft in case the U-joints ever went bad and they tried to sell me one for $1000. The U-joints are non-serviceable on these cars and require replacement of the driveshaft itself. So better to have the part than need to buy from a dealer.
This is a amazing car that has brought me nothing but fun and happiness. This will allow me to pay back on the truck I purchased for my career.
