I have a 1954 Buick Special 4 door sedan for sale. I set a small reserve on the car and it will only be listed on Ebay during the auction. I will let the auction run its course on this one and the winning bidder will get the car.
The prior owner of this Buick claimed that he bought the car from an older lady in Vicksburg Ms.. He made the car dependable and used it as is while participating in local cruise-ins and our regional car show called cruising the coast. The 264 nail head V8 runs very good and doesn't smoke. The newer factory style exhaust has a good V8 rumble without being too loud.
Exterior: The paint on the car is tired. It is chipping and peeling in places. There is rust in the driver and passenger outside rocker panels. I did not find any rust on the inside of the rocker panels. The front floor boards have some rust. The back floor boards and the trunk do not have any rust. The side trim is very nice and not dented. I can't find any signs of any crash damage on the car's body. The rest of the trim and bumpers are worn but not that bad for their age.
Interior: Original and complete but the seat covers and door panels are torn and the material is dry rotted. While in sad shape the seats are still comfortable like an old couch. The steering wheel and horn ring assembly is in very nice shape.
Options and accessories:
Power steering, power brakes, automatic transmission, windshield washer, backup lights, day/night mirror, sun visor vanity mirror, etc.
Note, Buick came out with a 12 volt charging system this year. This was standard equipment and I think a heck of a lot better than the 6 volt system. Chevy went to the 12 volt system in 1955 and Ford in 1956.
-Prior owner installed a new exhaust system and muffler, new power brake booster.
Working: power steering, power brakes, wipers, horn, headlights, turn signals, brake lights, tail lights, back up lights, tag light, gear selector light, dash lights, a.m. radio will turn on and buzz but will not play.
Recap: This is a mechanically well maintained classic 50's car with lot of options and accessories. Drive as is and have fun or restore to your satisfaction.
