1931 Buick Other

Buick Other (1931)
for sale

Price: US $3,000.00

Description:

1931 Buick Opera coupe for restoration or parts.
BODY: It is a typical wood-rotted Fischer body. The sheet metal all appears to have rust but very little rust-out. 1930 and 1931 Buicks used the same body with just minor differences. This comes with both the 1931 cowl and the 1930 cowl. It has the optional dual sidemount fenders and wire wheels. Also, a set of wood wheels are included. All parts appear to be there.
CHASSIS: The chassis is the 1931 90 Series 132 wheelbase. It has been sandblasted and repainted. Wheel hubs, brakes, brake rods, springs, etc...all appear to be there in good restorable condition.
MECHANICAL: Engine- The lower end has been rebuilt. The head and all components appear to be there, in restorable condition. There seems to be duplicates of many items. DRIVELINE- Transmission, clutch, torque tube, and rear end are all there and appear to have all needed parts with them in ready-to-restore condition. ( NOTE: The engine and transmission may have been sold. If so, the price will be reduced accordingly.)
BREIF HISTORY: I am assisting the owners widow in selling the car. The owner passed away recently. He also owned a restored 1931 Buick opera coupe and hoped to restore this one. He found this car about 30 years ago and put it in his garage. He restored parts of it, but not a lot. I believe there were two cars involved...a 1930 and a 1931 Buick. He told me he was planning a 1931 and had all the parts necessary. His widow is not aware of any title to go with the car. When he found it, it was covered with a tarp in a neighbors back yard.
MY CREDIBILITY: I have owned 3 1931 big series Buicks and currently own and drive a 1931 8-96 myself. Therefore, I am very familiar with the car and can assist interested parties on additional details about the car.
TIMING: This is not a fire sale. The car is in a secure garage. It is hoped that a buyer would be able to pick up the car by this summer. No storage would be charged and it would be under lock and key.
PARTS: If the car does not sell as a total item, it will be parted out. Therefore, if there are specific items that you would want, you are welcome to give us the item with your estimated dollar offer, and we will let you know first before parting it.
