West Coast Classics are proud to present an exceptionally rare example of this original southern California 1970 Buick Riviera with its highly desirable factory correct original 455/300HP big block V8 engine with only 47K original miles! Purchased by original retired LAPD Detective owner on 11/25/1969 from 'Jim Child's Buick' of Whittier, California and purchased by us directly from him in 2012. We sold the car to only its second owner in 2012 who garaged it and who drove it less than a couple of hundred miles the last 3 years before offering to sell it back to us last month.
Repainted once in its original 'Cornet Gold Metallic' factory color with a highly professional finish and still boasting its original 'Dark Brown' interior and matching 'Vinyl Landau' roof and loaded with factory options including power windows, automatic climate control air conditioning (which has been recently refitted to R134a with an electric fan installed) AM/FM radio, power front disc brakes, power driver seat, bucket seats, adjustable steering wheel, side view mirror, speed alert, electric clock, tinted windows, center console with flush mounted floor shifter, chrome sport mag wheels and vinyl roof. Serviced by Buick specialists since new and always garaged with the floor boards, trunk and all the typically rust-prone areas completely solid and rust free and with the car having had no accidents - obviously an always garaged and cherished driver since new.
The car looks extremely impressive with a professional repaint in its original factory color and the car boasts it's all original interior which is also in quite exceptional condition throughout. The dashboard, the headliner and the seats and carpets are all in very fine condition. All the chromework is exceptional and the original spare wheel with it's jack is located in the trunk.
The '455' 4 barrel big block V8 engine is extremely strong and powerful with only 47K original miles and this particular car drives absolutely magnificently - must be driven to be fully appreciated - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day sports car a run for it's money! The transmission shifts smoothly through the gears, there are no noticeable oil leaks and the temperature always remains cool.
