This 1947 Buick Roadmaster Sedanette 2 Door Coupe features a
two-tone gray exterior over a gray/green interior and power from a Fireball Dynaflash
8 cylinder with 3 Speed manual transmission.
The Exterior is finished in a handsome two-tone color combination
of a Charcoal Gray Metallic upper body and Light Gray lower The streamlined
exterior is accented by a chrome spotlight, driver’s side-view mirror, bumper
guards, chrome stone guards and the big Buick fender skirts, . White whitewall tires are mounted to painted steel
wheels with chrome wheel covers.
The firm and comfortable Gray Cloth interior is accented by a
Charcoal Gray painted dash that flows thru the upper door sills and continues
thru to the back seat. Other interior amenities include a clock (not-working) , heater and
defroster, Sonomatic radio (not-working needs rebuild )and chrome accents throughout.
The highly detailed and immaculate engine bay can be accessed from
either side of the car and hosts the Fireball Dynaflash 320cui, overhead valve
inline 8 cylinder engine backed by a column shifted 3 speed manual
transmission. Independent front suspension with coil springs front and rear
give this Roadmaster that nice “big car” ride and four wheel hydraulic drum
brakes bring it to a stop effortlessly. As part of the restoration the
undercarriage was completely refreshed and detailed.
This Sedanette is an excellent example of General Motors’
aerodynamic postwar torpedo styling. The Roadmaster was Buick’s premium and
best appointed model and was offered in coupe, sedan, convertible and
stationwagon. Known for interior luxury and quiet operation, there are few
other cars like this from this era. The sleek styling of these Sedanettes
elicited an emotional response from the motoring community that surpassed the
expectations of GM. They were built on Buick's longest wheelbase and shared its
basic structure with the higher end Oldsmobile's.
Recently inspected and in drive away condition. This is an
excellent example of a rare postwar automobile. Take a step back in time, this
car runs and drives just as it did back in its day and provides you with the
feel that only a Buick can offer. Even has the new car smell.
If possible I encougage you to come and inspect the the car or hire a professional on your behalf.
